We can see that measures C, K, L, M and N exceed the averages for the suite of parts 9 to 22.
→ It is now clear that the process is not under control.
Note: This graphical approach implies replacing the numerical variables by binary 0/1 variables. We
lose some information, and some test power, but on the other hand we get a quick visual test.

Example 2: Creation or takeover of small businesses, by level of education
A survey was carried out among a representative sample of managers of companies with less than 11
employees in the Rhône-Alpes region (6,000,000 inhabitants). The following table cross-references
their level of education with the type of entrepreneurship (creation or takeover).
The level of education is classified as VI (leaving school at the end of compulsory education), V (high
school diploma, vocational training, or technical school certificate), IV (first year of university), III
(higher technician diploma), II (Bachelor degree), I (Master or PhD).
The first table is obtained by Copy/Paste of the table in AMADO-online, or by opening the
corresponding TXT file: File / Open.

Example 3: Territorial marketing.
Searching for blocks in a square matrix of co- occurrence.
In order to attract companies to their territories, many local authorities market possible sites for
the establishment of activities. These sites have various names: industrial zone, technology park, etc.
To help narrow down the 'range' of possible locations, 72 business leaders were asked to group 49
cards with the names of sites proposed by different French cities into piles, each pile containing the
names that appeared to be synonymous. The matrix gives the number of times two places were
grouped together. This creates a similarity matrix.
Then, to find the blocks of names that are often classified together (that are similar in the sense of
this matrix):
Process / Frequency Data or 0/1 / Hierarchical Clustering
To make the highlighted blocks more visible, vertical and horizontal dividers are inserted. For each
one, click on the column (respectively the row) that follows the place where you want to insert it
and:

easy-to-read graph. ENBIS 2021 Spring Meeting; 2021 May 17-18.
On the graph obtained by AMADO-online, we can clearly see:
the groups of names considered synonymous by many entrepreneurs,
as well as the degree of homogeneity of each group.
For example, we see that many entrepreneurs have considered as synonyms:
- all names containing the roots "techno" or "scientific",
- the 3 names: "Jardin d'entreprises", "Pépinière d'entreprises" and "Ruche d'entreprises" ("business
garden", "Business nursery", "Business beehive"),
- or, at the bottom right of the graph: "Atelier relais" and "Usine relais".
The interviewees consulted were more divided as to the synonymy of the names brought together by
the algorithm in the same cluster.
The graph produced by AMADO-online also allows us to see that separate clusters do have certain
similarities, for example {"Jardin d'entreprises", "Pépinière d'entreprises" and "Ruche d'entreprises"}
& {“Couveuse" and “Incubateur" (“hatchery" and "incubator")}.
