 Write a short paragraph about an environmental problem in their city or neighborhood and suggest
some solutions.

3 Warm-up

-T: Good. Welcome to my class.
-T asks one of the SS to write the date on the BB.
20 minutes Pre-writing stage
Brainstorming: Setting the scene
-T raises SS motivation and awareness about the topic.
-T: Are there any environmental problems in Youssoufia? =>SS: Yes.
-T elicits and writes SS problems on the BB
 Pollution: Water, air, land. Semantic map
 Waste, garbage, rubbish, trash, no dustbins
 Smoke of some companies…etc
-T: Why do we have such problems? What are the reasons/causes?
 Lack of people’s awareness of the importance of our environment.
 Lot of cars and tracks…etc
 No Cleaning/ people keep throwing waste in the street.
 Companies don’t care about waste, they just get rid of it by anyway.

Drafting:
-T asks SS to write a paragraph about anenvironmental problem and suggest solutions.

-T asks SS to exchange their drafts and revise.
Editing:
-T asks SS to edit their first drafts if there are any mistakes and write the last draft. Revising
