-Admission to a hospital word

-The doctor may decide that you need to be admitted to hospital to have some more tests and
trethment

-You will be taken to the ward by e member off staff PATIENT

-PATIENT : Hallo

NURSE : hi are you allright

PATIENT : A ward nurse will be expenting you when you arrive

NURSE : Hi iam Jim, your stying with us on this side at the moment ‘so we will take you
over to sid room 7 it that’s allright

PATIENT : yes that fine

NURSE : if youd like to just follow us:

I’ll just take you round

PATIENT : the ward nurse will show you to your bed they will show you how to use the nurse
call bell and where toilets are

NURSE : I’ll give you the call buzzer if you need anything or want anyone , just press and the
orange one

The yellow one aparates the light allrigh we ill be back with you in a minuts

PATIENT : what happens if I want the 100 or anything do I just press that

NURSE : yess press that one

The bathroom is in the some room just over there

PATIENT :where that door is

NURSE : yes we will come and give you a hand and snow you where everything is if you
need

PATIENT : too ok

A junior doctor will see you daily to see you daily to see how you are feelling. They may want to
listen to your chest …?

PATIENT : yes that’s fine

- DOCTOR :Do you want to undo your top two buttons for me , is that ok..?

PATIENT : yes

DOCTOR : Great

The doctor will ask you to take deep breats .

DOCTOR : I need you take some deep breaths in and out throught your mont for me

PATIENT : ok

DOCTOR : Lift this arm up as well that’s it super you can do your bottons up again

PATIEN : how is iy…?

DOCTOR : Its fine all good

PATINET : Cheers

DOCTOR : nice to meet you james and ill se you a bit latter ok”

You will be asked to choose what you would like to eat at meal times and this will be brought to
you drinks are available throught out the day and night here you go

PATIENT :yes are you…?

NURSE :yes iam just going to get some of your tablets are you in any pain…?

If you take tablets the nurse will bring them to you she will ask you for your name and check
your wirst band. The nurse ask will you if you are in any pain.

Youre not allergic to anything ae you no im not allergic

“brilliant theres your pain relief ok just two paracetamol

PATIENT : cheers

NURSE : We ll be back in about half on hour to see if it works alright you latter
