2. Different types of EWM?
There are 2 types in EWM system A. Decentralized EWM System: Which is standalone system (separate system), Which is integrated to ERP system. So, what ever master data we created in ERP system should transfer to EWM system through CIF functionality B. Embedded EWM system: In this both ERP and EWM systems are laid in same instance. So, there is no requirement to transfer the master data (S/4 HANA system)

S/4 HANA – 1809 – 2018 (Latest) S/4 HANA – 1709 – 2017
Changes in the Embedded EWM system
In S/4 HANA system there is no cencept of Inbound Delivery notification. Eventhough in S/4 Embeded system, System consider as ERP and EWM as separate systems
Before the 1709 or EWM standalone system. If
delivery in distributed to EWM from ERP then we can’t change the ERP delivery. But after the 1709 in S/4 HANA, we can change the Delivery. Only perquisites is warehouse operation should not be started on Delivery
Process oriented storage control: Movement of products in a warehouse is based on processing
requirement. You can use this type of storage control to map complex putaways, stock removals, and warehouse-internal movements. Layout oriented storage control: You can benefit from layout-oriented storage control for stock movements which move to travel via an intermediate storage bins
