 Title of Invention : Duckies: Alternative Animal Feed from Fermented Wood

Powder and Corn Pulp with the Help of Starbio
 Abstract
Feed for livestock is a problem that includes the availability, content, adequacy and
price and quality. This is because the cost of feed reaches 70% of the total production
cost. Cheap feed prices and meeting the nutritional needs of livestock have a
competitive value in improving the quality of production, especially in the
globalization era. Wood sawdust contains: 67.85% crude fiber, 1.38% ash, 3.1%
 crude protein, and 0.32% crude fat. Corn pulp contains 2.94% protein, lignin 5.2%,
cellulose 30%, and digestibility rates up to 40%. Existing animal feed products only
consist of each of these ingredients. However, Duckies is considered more complex in
nutrition and protein content because it consists of a combination of ingredients that
have high protein potential values. Duckies are processed by anaerobic fermentation
which aims to optimize the performance of the bacteria contained in starbio to
degrade cellulose and lignin. Because the content that is in starbio is cellulotic
bacteria which is very important in the process of fermentation of wood dust and corn
waste so that the results obtained protein and nutrients are higher than existing
products. The advantage of Duckies is that it meets the high nutritional and protein
requirements in ducks so that they produce fatter and healthier ducks with more
efficient time. So by choosing Duckies as duck feed will produce maximum weight
with minimal cost. In 100 grams Duckies contains 40 grams of corn pulp, 60 grams of
wood sawdust, and 5 grams of starbio. Based on the results of laboratory tests
Duckies has 75.54% crude fiber, 16% crude protein, 1.8% crude fat, and 2.41% ash.
