1. Activity 1:
 Distribute worksheets.
 Read the activity instruction and check pupils know what to do.
 Play the recording. Pupils listen and tick the correct pictures.
 Check the answers with the class.
2. Activity 2:
 Distribute worksheets. Demonstrate the speaking activity.

 Write target language on the board. (Can you ________ ? Yes, I can. / No, I can’t.)
 Give them a few examples before practising the language with the class.
 Guide pupils to write one or more questions for their survey.
 Then, pupils walk around and ask up to 6 pupils. Pupils write their names and write yes/no.
 Elicit from pupils what they found out. e.g. Who can play the badminton? Who can’t play
badminton?
3. Activity 3:
 Guide pupils to write sentences for the information they found out in activity 2.
 Write a model on the board for them to use. E.g. (Name), (Name) and (Name) can play
badminton but (Name) can’t play badminton.
 Go around the class and help as necessary.
Post lesson :
 Say a sentence. E.g. Adi, Johan and Chong can play football.
 Pupils listen and ask them to remember the details.
 Elicit answers from the whole class.
 Repeat with other sentences.
LINUS
Pupils read 2-3 sentences by repeating after teacher.

Lesson development
1. Activity 1:
 Distribute worksheets.
 Pupils look at the pictures carefully. Pre-teach very fast and wings.
 Read the short texts aloud. Pupils listen and follow.
8  Pupils do the matching task individually and then compare ideas in pairs.
 Check with the class.
2. Activity 2:
 Read the activity instruction aloud and check understanding of funny.
 Check pupils know what to do. Remind them to use the texts in SB Activity 1 as a model.
 Pupils draw their animal.
 They write a rough draft in their exercise books.
 Remind pupils to use capital letters and full stops appropriately in writing sentences.
 Go around the class to help and check.
 When you have checked their work, pupils write a final draft on the worksheet given.
 Invite volunteers to read their texts to the class.
3. Post lesson :
 In pairs, pupils draw two pictures and write one sentence using SB pg 101 as a model.
LINUS  Pairs swap their pictures and sentence with another pair and circle the correct picture.
 Pupils read 2-3 sentences by repeating after teacher.
