OUR LIVES BEGIN TO

BECOME SILENT ABOUT
THINGS THAT MATTER
—MARTIN LUTHER KING

This quote is my favourite because unless we stand

together to convert our thinking into physical actions,
there will be no change. We can't keep relying on our
next generation to solve injustice then it gives the
offender the courage to continue with that behavior.
Unless we raise our voice for justice the situation will
not change. Period.
WHAT IF MLK WAS
ALIVE TODAY?
He would be proud of how far America has come,
people are desegregated completely, but he would
also be disappointed that after 50 years, there is
still racism in the world. The issues he’d fight for
still would be, voters suppression, police brutality,
black poverty. He would be horrified that the
American president now is racist. He would be mad
at all the violent protest that happened in June. this
is not what he preached. Police brutality is the most
horrific acts of racism because those are the
people that are supposed to protect you, you are
supposed to turn to them when you're being
oppressed. If he was alive, I think he would 100%
end police brutality. We need a MLK for this
generation. He would change the fact that black
citizen are going to bed hungry and struggling to
make living. There is still so much to accomplish.
What were his biggest contributions in the Civil
Rights Movement
Personally I think one of his greatest achievements was leading the montgomery bus
boycott. The boycott was huge and lasted for 381 days and he successfully convinced
people to stop using buses and everyone listened to him. What a powerful man. And of
course, his March on Washington protest and giving his speech” I have a Dream” is very
moving. He wished for black people to have the same rights as white people. Which
unfortunately didn't happen 50 years later. He protested, put up so many fights to gain
freedom and equality. What made him very successful in my opinion is his charisma. He
was extremely charismatic and even the president of the USA at that time was
influenced by him. His leadership skills were crucial because they made him get to
where he is. In conclusion, I think that he contributed majorly in the Civil rights act
because of his Montgomery bus boycott and his March on Washington which was very
influential and most importantly his extremely charming charisma.
What impact did he have on equal rights for African
Americans.
Dr Martin Luther king had a vision of African Americans having the same rights as
white people. King said so many times that a person should not be judged based on their
skin color, but by the content of their character. He helped desegregate people and limit
racism In the U.S. Martin Luther King Day is designated a national day of service.
Americans are urged to celebrate “a day on, not a day off” in honor of King’s
commitment to improving the lives of others. President Obama promotes volunteerism
as a way to help meet the challenges facing our world and also A national memorial to
King was built near the Lincoln Memorial, where King delivered his “I Have a Dream”
speech. The memorial invites visitors to reflect on King’s life and legacy. We all should
recognize the efforts that MLK jr. did to help improve African American people. He
changed the world and made history. I’m not saying that he completely diminished
racism, there is still a lot to achieve, but he definitely got rid of major racism issues in
the 1960s.
