3B: Given the abrupt changes that happened to the learning situation in our country due to the

pandemic, what can you do to help build the learning resources for both teachers and students in
your school?

Answer:

With so much changes brought by the pandemic, education still pushed through to cater
educational needs of learners thus, adapting to certain changes to be able to continue its purpose. By
doing so, learning resources play a vital role in delivering learning to its recipients. From the traditional
use of blackboards as a means of delivering learning, it now shifted to the use of modules for those who
opted for modular distance learning, some made use of online platforms such as zoom to conduct virtual
classes and some are adopting the combination of these two which is the blended learning. The learning
resources used in these modalities vary depending on the preferences of the learners.

The availability of these resources cost money and certain funds are needed to continue such
endeavour. But to be able to continue learning, there should always be an alternative when it comes to
accessing learning resources. Since we cannot always rely on funds for accessing learning resources, we
have to look for and recognize LR’s that can be possibly used in the learning process. As a teacher, I
need to identify underutilised resources within the school that will support the learning of my learners
and will also be beneficial to my co-teachers as well. I need to assess these resources on how it can
support learning and how I can be able to improve it so as to achieve its full potential which will be vital
in the learning process. Some of these may be outdated or it might need repairing, but with proper
management and creativity, I would be able to come up with a learning resource that will aid the
delivery of my lessons.

On the other hand, I would also encourage my learners to recognize resources within the vicinity
of their homes which will aid them during the learning period. Creativity should be incorporated to
come up with a conducive and useful learning resources.
