Introduction

Family planning is the practice of controlling the number of children in

a family and the interval between their births. It gives permission for
individual partner to attain their desired number of children's achieved
(World Health Organization(WHO), 2014). It improves the health and all
well-being of woman and families around the world. Healthy timing and
spacing of pregnancy help woman and couple delay time, space or limit
their pregnancies to achieve the healthiest outcomes for women, newborns,
infants and children regardless the number of children (Manuela, 2016).

Globally the number of woman with an unmet needs for family planning
is projected to change little from 142 million in 2015 to 143 million in 2030
due to growth in the number of married or in-union woman of reproductive
age in Africa and growth in demand (United Nation, 2015).

The world contraceptive day (September 26) is designated as world

contraceptive to raise awareness of contraceptive and improving education
about sexual and reproductive health with a vision of ''a world where every''
pregnancy is wanted (The World Health Organization, 2016).

Men should be care about their wife's reproductive health and support
them, thus men's attitudes can determine whether woman can practice
healthy behaviors or not. Methods such as condoms and vasectomy used by
men are important for reproductive health needs and concerns particular in
sexual transmitted infections(STIs) which deserve the attention of the health
care system and providers (Molly, 2014).
Perception is the process of gathering information through our senses,
organization and making sense for it, previous experience learning needs,
attitudes, interests, feelings and the current situation all affect perception. It
is concerned with how individual see and make sense of their environment
also leads to decision making and decision to act or not act. Perception
differs from individual to individual due to a variety of personal factors
( e.g., age, race, gender) socio economic factors (e.g., occupation, level of
education, environmental factor and family upbringing) and cultural factors
(e.g., belief, language) (Zaied, 2016).

Men feel strongly that women should have an equal chance to decide
the number of children the couple will have. Husbands with higher levels of
education are more likely to feel that decisions about family size should be
made together with wives. Decision making among couples, especially on
family planning use, is a critical component in reaching desired family size (
Join, 2013).

The community health nurse plays a vital role regarding family planning
according to three level of prevention. Primary prevention through
providing guidance and information about contraceptive methods used by
woman. The nurse can also play an important role in helping a woman or
couple choose a method of contraception that is acceptable to both partners,
the most contraceptive methods are female oriented, men can purchase
condoms without seeing a health care provider, only in the case of
vasectomy does a man require counseling and interaction with a nurse so
men should be participation in contraceptive services (Adam, 2012) .
Magnitude of the Problem

The husband is the core of the family so his decision –making is important
for the couple's choice of contraception. Male contraception is cheaper and
safe from complication. There for it is important to understand male
perception to address the problems involved in implementation of male
contraception (International Planned Parenthood Federation, 2011).

Egypt is one of the most developing countries in Africa and the Middle
East which suffering from over population result from low birth control and
high fertility so with a 2017 estimated population of 97,55 million (World
Population Review, ( 2017).

International family planning and health programmers as a

consequence focused exclusively through basic family planning
programmers serving woman .If men were involved, it was in a limited way,
often to ensure contraceptive continuation and acceptability or to promote
the diagnosis and treatment of STIs. Previous researches focus on woman for
family planning. In this piece of work , will be looked at neglected aspect
through important that might reverses the equation when find out other
factors or determinants that would influence family planning use by focusing
on husband's role in family planning decision making (Katter, 2011).
