Initial Task:
A. Motivational Activity
 Review of punctuation marks.
 Divide the class into four groups and do the “Pic Puzzle” game.
 Still in their group, give the jumbled words and ask them to
arrange it to form a meaningful sentence.
 Process the answer of each group.

B. Analysis
 Play a video about the Types of Sentence According to
Purpose.
 Ask the students to differentiate each kind of sentence and how
it is formed.
 Go back to the sentences made by each group and let them
analyze the kind of sentence that they formed.

C. Reflection
 What are the different types of sentences according to purpose?

D. Application
 Let the students do the activity “Label Up” by classifying each
sentence as declarative, interrogative, imperative, and
exclamatory.
 In group, students will formulate sentences according to
purpose based on the short film that they watched. They will be
graded based from the given rubrics.
E. Assessment
 The students will do “Spot-on”.

F. Home work
 Answer the following.

ACTIVITIES AND ENHANCEMENTS

A. PIC PUZZLE
 Students will form their group
 An envelope will be given to each group; the envelope contains a cut out
pictures that they will arrange.
 Ask each group to give a sentence out of the picture that they have
arranged.

B. JUMBLED WORDS
 Still in their group, the teacher will give another envelope containing jumbled
words which the students will arrange to form a sentence.
 The sentences have connection to the pictures that they have arranged.

C. LABEL UP
 Post the activity on the board.
 The students will analyze and identify the kind of sentence according to the
function or purpose.

1. Have you brushed your teeth today?


2. My cat chases the rat.
3. Close the door, please.
4. You broke the lamp!
5. Let’s have some ice cream, shall we?

D. NOW YOU SEE ME


 The class will again be divided by group.
 The teacher will play a short video.
 The students will construct sentences according to the purpose such as
declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory sentences.
 Each group will present their work afterwards.
 They will be graded based on the rubrics given.
E. SPOT-ON
 In a form of quiz, the students will put the correct punctuation mark in each
sentence.
 They will also identify the kind of sentence according to purpose.
