Successful completion of the courses for the Hybrid Electric Vehicle Maintenance and Repair certificate of specialization trains students to maintain and repair the most common hybrid electric vehicles. Students will learn the required knowledge and skills to diagnose hybrid/electric automobiles, SUVs, and light-duty trucks. Students must complete each course with a grade of “C” or better to be awarded this certificate of specialization. Completed courses will appear on the student's transcripts. However, the Certification of Specialization will only appear on documents obtained directly through the Automotive department.
Program Learning Outcomes:
• Demonstrate knowledge of theory, operation, fault validation, appropriate choice and
execution of diagnostic methods, safe and environmentally sensitive practices, and efficient work habits of the following systems: High Voltage Battery Systems, High Voltage Electrical Systems, and Hybrid Support Systems. • Validate service and/or repair success and document service/repair information. • Demonstrate safety procedures when working on hybrid electric vehicles
