ACTIVITIES
ACTIVITY 1: DESCRIBE AN ALTERATION OF CONSCIOUSNESS
In the exploration of patients with a deterioration in the level of consciousness, after
stabilizing the patient, it is important to carry out a neurological examination
systematically, mainly evaluating: ocular opening to stimulus, verbal response, position of
the eyes at rest, size and pupillary response to light stimulus, oculocephalic reflexes and
motor response.
Stupor: incomplete awakening to painful stimuli. There is no response or, if there is, it is of
a minimal degree to verbal stimuli. No verbal responses are obtained and there is still a
self-defense response.
Skin
