SUBJECT: INCORRECT INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATION
PURPOSE: To inform the field of an improperly assembled electrical harness which causes
the wrong indicator light to illumnate.
APPLICATION: Komatsu Electric Drive Dump Trucks:
930E-4: A30601 - A30638;
930E-4SE: A30587 - A30637
FAILURE CODE: D5K0PN
DESCRIPTION: Engine External Harness (EM2767)

In engine external harness (EM2767), which connects to the engine control module (ECM), two wires
have been installed incorrectly at the ECM connector. This causes the wrong indicator light on the
overhead panel or rear side of the center console to illuminate when a problem with the truck is detected.
The yellow light alerts the operator to a problem that must be fixed at the end of the shift, but the blue
light indicates a problem that can wait to be fixed until the next scheduled maintenance period. Having
the wrong light illuminate may cause a delay in fixing a more urgent problem with the truck.

To correct this problem, wire numbers 419M

and 528A must be switched at connector 806.
Wire 419M must be connected to pin 16 and
wire 528A must be connected to pin 17. See
Figure 1 for the correct wiring connection
configuration.

A Deutsch connector tool will be needed to

remove the pins from the connector. A Deutsch
connector tool is included in connector repair
kits (790-222-4000) and (790-222-4100).
Follow the procedure outlined in Parts &
Service Operation TIPS (SEKN5003), which is
also included in both connector repair kits.
