On Monday, October 31st at
midnight, the newlywed, Joy
Blois, found all seven of her
husband’s former wives lying on
the blood-clotted floor.
BREAKING NEWS
Eight women including Razel
Rouergue‎, Kate Castellane‎,
Abigail Châtillon‎, Penelope
Castellane‎, Anastasia Cartier,
Lynn Aubert, Melody
MacMahon, Emilie Fonblanque,
and the newest wife, Joy Blois‎
were all married to Monsieur
Barbe Bleue.
Each of his former wives could
indulge themselves in his
riches while Monsieur Barbe
Bleue was away on an affair
trip. After Monsieur Barbe
Bleue returned home, rumors
circulated that seven wives
went missing and only one, Joy
Blois, remained alive.
His wives were given the
freedom to do whatever they
wanted and were given keys to
access the entire mansion
under one condition: they
could not unlock the door to
the closet located at the long
gallery on the ground floor.

Monsieur Barbe Bleue’s fairy key
was there to witness the situation
and admitted that Monsieur
threatened his wives with the
words, “you must not enter, nor
even put the key into the lock, for
all the world. If you do not obey
me in this one thing, you must
expect the most dreadful
punishments'' (Perrault 2).
Curiosity got the best of his wives
as they unlocked the door to the
closet. As of October 31st, all seven
of Barbe Bleue’s wives were found
dead and murdered by Monsieur
Barbe Bleue.
The newlywed, Joy Blois, found all
seven of Monsieur Barbe Bleue’s
wives lying on the blood-clotted
floor.
Joy Blois exclaimed, “I was ready
to sink with fear, and the key of
the closet door, which I held in my
hand, fell on the floor. When I had
a little got the better of my fright,
I took it up, locked the door, and
made haste back to my room, that
I might have a little time to get
into humor to amuse my company;
but this I could not do, so great
was my fright at what I had seen.
As I found that the key of the
closet had got stained with blood
from falling on the floor, I wiped it
two or three times over to clean it;
yet still, the blood kept on it the
same as before.
BREAKING NEWS
I next waId it, but the blood
did not move at all. I then
scoured it with brick dust, and
after with sand, but despite all
I could do, the blood was still
there” (Perrault 3).
When Monsieur Barbe Bleue
returned home, Monsieur
Barbe Bleue found out Joy Blois
disobeyed him by entering the
closet and screaming that he
would kill her.
Joy Blois’ sister, Mary Blois,
was there to witness Joy Blois
nearly being murdered by
Barbe Bleue. She cried, “I saw
my poor trembling Joy every
minute crying out to me,
‘Anne! Sister Anne! Do you see
anyone coming?’ I ran back and
forth, but all I saw was nothing
but the sun, dust, and the
green grass” (Perrault 4).
Within seconds before
Monsieur Barbe Bleue
murdered her, the gates flew
open where the Blois brothers
came to the rescue and
murdered Barbe Bleue.
