Lasallian Core Value Reflection

In order for faith to grow in your life, your heart's eyes must be opened to God's calling
and "the exceeding glory of His might." When you look at things through the lens of faith, you'll
notice that God is always bigger than your troubles. In the presence of His grandeur, fear,
anxiety, and hopelessness fade away. I can manifest my faith depending on who I'm expressing it
for. If it's for God, I express my faith through prayers of appreciation for my benefits and
forgiveness of my sins, as well as by following the biblical principles. If I'm expressing my faith
to myself, I'm reflecting back on all of my previous life experiences and evaluating each one to
see how God was able to aid me through difficult times of trials and tribulation, and give
blessings for me when I didn't think there were any. If I’m expressing it to other people, then I'm
showing you that there's a reason why I do these things through my actions and words, through
everything I do that is me. It is still here, there, and everywhere, on the outside and from within,
even if you and I can't perceive it in a more tangible sense.
As students, we can't deny that our daily lives are fraught with obstacles. We all have our
own problems to deal with as individuals. The decisions we make now, as youth, will determine
an uncertain future. We humans create civilizations, communicate with one another, and work
hard to achieve our goals. We all have different duties to perform in order for our society to
function, and as Lasallians, our qualities and moral ideals shape who we are now and who we
will be in the future. Our founder, St. John Baptist de La Salle, instilled the essential qualities of
faith, desire for service, and unity in our hearts and minds. However, the question is whether we
live out or ignore these essential principles. The answer is up to us to consider. Despite the fact
that we live in the technological age, Lasallians must never forget the true essence of education
as envisioned by St. La Salle.
In mission, communion reminds us not only of our founder, but also of our Creator. We
will create a setting that represents St. La Salle's missionary experiences in collaboration with the
Lasallian community. One example of how we must be in contact with society is the task of
offering a hand to our less fortunate brothers and sisters. It demonstrates how much we respect
our founder's teachings by performing even a little act of compassion in communion with our
fellow Lasallians. We all have our own challenges, but let us remember that as Lasallians, we
must always be in communion with the community in order to achieve our purpose of assisting
those in need and being the change for the improvement of society
