Introduction
The decisions we make and the actions we take exemplify our
core values. Core values lay the foundation for an individual’s
morals. These values derive from childhood yet are reinforced by
life experiences and culture. In the following sections of my
Thematic Analysis, I will explore 10 “themes” of both my
professional career and personal life.
• To begin my research process, I
gathered my assorted data
sources.
• I began reviewing the various
assessments I have taken
Research throughout this course along with
previous Organizational Leadership

Process and
courses.
• Through thorough evaluation of
my data, I established an
Methods understanding of patterns.
• These patterns enabled me to
group similarities and develop
coding.
• Altogether, the process allowed
me to identify my top 10 themes.
My Data Sources
The data used in my Thematic
Analysis was acquired from
personal experiences,
professional development,
and the numerous courses I
have taken at ASU as part of
my Organizational Leadership
program.
• Three Questions (3Qs) - This assignment
encompassed three questions developed by
Rev. Michael Himes asking questions that
made me think critically about what gives
me joy, what am I good at, and what the
world needs me to do.
• Identities Exercise (IE) - The identities

Data
exercise enabled me to identify how various
roles influence my perspective.
• Values and Dreams Checklist (VD) - The
values checklist allowed me to identify the
10 values that I deemed most important.

Sources
Once these were identified, I was to cross
them off, one by one until only one
remained. The dreams checklist exercise
had me express my top dreams and desires
while prioritizing my “top 5”.
• Life Story Personal Narrative (LSPN) - This
exercise allowed me to reflect on my life
story from birth to the present day. The
goal of this assignment was to recognize
major themes that have remained
throughout my life.
• Kuder Assessments Including:
• Kuder Career Interests Assessment
(KCIA) - This assessment uses an array
of questions to identify my highest
career interests.
• Kuder Skills Confidence Assessment

Data
(KSCA) - This assessment uses an array
of questions to identify my strongest
skills and the highest areas of interests.
• Super’s Work Values Inventory-revised

Sources
(SWVI) - This assessment uses an array
of questions to identify my top work
values.
• Big Five (BF) - Through a series of
questions, this assessment helped me
identify aspects of my personality across
five broad domains: Openness to
experience, Conscientiousness,
Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Natural
Reactions.
• Conflict Styles Inventory (CSI) - Through
the utilization of a “10-point” rating scale, I
was asked a string of questions that helped
to understand how I respond to five major
styles of conflict: Accommodating,
Compromising, Integrating, Avoiding, and

Data
Dominating.
• ASU Major and Career Quiz (MCQ) - This
quiz helped me to discover if my major and

Sources
career path matched my interests and
passions.
• Motivation and Career Anchor Assessment
(MCAA) - This assessment helped me in
determining factors in everyday work life
that I find crucial and may not be willing to
give up. I was provided useful insight to
make appropriate career choices that will
enable me to obtain a satisfying work
environment.
