For this year’s engagement, activities cover: hotoJourn Contest (Open to all scholars) ‘impromptu Speech Contest (Open toa scholars) *Scholars Feud (Final groupings and team’s color-to be followed) In properly disseminating the guidelines and important details of those tasks, we would like to inform you that department's secretaries under your offices will be part of the Communication Committee. LIPA CITY COLLEGES ‘ath FOUNDATION CELEBRATION Rules and Guidelines for the PHOTOJOURN 1. The contest is open to all LCC Scholars from Junior High School to College Department. Each department shall have one to three (1 to 3) representative/s to compete. 2. The participants shall be given the entire day to take pictures on November 18, 2021. 3. The Photo should be able to interpret the theme that will be given on the day of the event: 4. Each participant shall only be allowed to use one (1) DSLR camera or Mobile Phone/Smart Phone. 5. Photographs must be an original photo captured by the participating student and not by anyone else. 6. For a photo in which a person is recognizable, the photographer Is responsible for securing permission from that person or, in the case of a minor, from the subject's parent or guardian, 6. No photo manipulation is allowed/ Post editing of captured photo is highly prohibited. 7. Each participant shall select one (1) best image for submission 8. Submission of the Photo entry shall be done via google form together with a caption. 9. Deadline of submission is until 9:00 pm of the same date, 10. The winner shall be judged based on the following criteria. The board of judges’ decision shall be considered final and irrevocable. Criteria for Judging: Relevance to the theme 40% Photo Quality (Shot and Angle) 30% Caption 30% TOTAL 100% 11. Each part ant will receive an e-certificate of participation. 12. Winning participants will receive an e-certificate of recognition. Scholars Day 2021 Impromptu Speaking Description: The competitor is given two (2) minutes to prepare a speech on the given topic. Goal: To create a polished speaker who is able to give an original, spontaneously prepared speech within the room, using the selected topic as the central theme. Impromptu Preparation Rules: 1, Topic isto be provided by the judges. Impromptu Administration Rules: 1. The Judges will be the one give the topic for each speakers/competitor/s 2. The competition will take place via zoom meeting 3. Preparation time begins as soon as the topicis given to the competitor. 4, During preparation time, there is a committee wherein, he/she will set the timer for 2 ‘minutes. A verbal countdown signals will be given every thirty (30) seconds until two (2) minutes have elapsed, 5. The speaker may write notes on a blank sheet of paper during preparation time, but he/she may not use or refer to the notes during his/her speech. 6. Unused preparation time may not be added to the speaking time. Impromptu Presentation Rules: 1. The speaker may approach the topic in any way he/she chooses, but the topic must be the central theme of the speech and not peripheral to it. 2. The speaker is not allowed to read his/her written speech during the presentation, if he/she has one 3. The speaker must state the topic early in the speech, 4, The speech should be fresh, original, developed with great ideas/facts and prepared on the spot ‘5. No audio or visual aids or props may be used. 6. Gratuitous vulgarity is strictly prohibited. ‘9. Other participants must not listen to other Impromptu competitors speaking before them. 10. The other competitors are waiting for their turn, they will stay in a breakout room 10, Maximum speaking time is three (3) minutes. 11. Competitors will receive a one (1) rank penalty for going over time by fifteen (15) seconds or more. Preparation time-two (2) minutes. Speaking time-three (3) minutes. No minimum time. Guidelines of Scholars Feud ‘Schedule of the Gamé jovember 17, 2021 at 1PM onwards Location: The event will take place via Zoom Meeting. The link will be sent to the created group chat (GC) of team’s representatives on the day of the game ‘Things/ materials to prepare of each representative: ‘a. white board 1/8 size b. white board marker . eraser/ clean cloth d. cellphone/ laptop Standard Format: ‘a. The scholarship office will provide background for each team’s color. They will be required to use it as their background while playing the game. b. The format of their account name is shown below ‘Teams color_First Name_Last Name (Ex: Blue_luan_dela Cruz) Cc. Itis much better if there is a possibility for them to wear shirt of their team’s color ‘The Game: “Round 1 - single score (2 Questions) "*Round 2 - single score (2 Questions) “*Round 3 - double score (2 Questions) “Round 4- double score (2 Questions) **Fast Money Round - score depending on the answers from the survey/ single score (5 Questions) Recommended Audience: Student assistants (game watchers and game facilitators) “Two game watchers per team will be instructed to monitor the status/ pointing system of their assigned group. They are also responsible in updating and matching the points to the main game facilitators (2) who are tabulating the excel score screen. Eight (8) is the total number of the game watchers. ‘*Two game facilitators will do a manual tallying in a form versus the excel score screen for back up and accuracy purposes. “Another two main game facilitators will work on the excel score screen. *One game watcher will focus on taking the screenshots as the participants raise their answers altogether. This is for the documentation use and validity of computed scores. “Two game watchers serve as observers while the game is ongoing. Particulars | No. of individual/s Game watchers 1 Game facilitators 4 Time Limit: *Round 1 - Per team will stay in the breakout room for 30 to 45 seconds to finalize their answers ‘*Round 2 - Per team will stay in the breakout room for 30 to 45 seconds to finalize their answers “Round 3 - Per team will stay in the breakout room for 20 to 25 seconds to finalize their answers ‘Round 4 - Per team will stay in the breakout room for 20 to 25 seconds to finalize their answers ‘Questions: Survey Questions Answers: *For Round 1 to 4, after group's discussion in the breakout room, representative who will answer the question will write their team’s answer on the white board. Once the game master give the go signal, all of the competitors will raise their answers altogether. ‘*For Fast Money Round, group's option of two members from the winning team will separately answer the questions. As the first member is going to answer the questions, his teammates will stay in the breakout room. Then, once the second member mentioned answers that were already given by the first member, he has to provide another answer. They will win this round if they get a total score of 150 points, Penalty: There are no deductions for wrong answers for every round. ‘Score: The score will be visible at the end of the game but will not formally declare the winner. The live streaming of pre-record and awarding will be done on the day of the event. Judging: Team who has the highest total score will be displayed in the excel score screen at the end of the game. Other Rules: 1. The Scholars Feud is created to develop a light mood, team effort and cooperation. 2. All representatives will receive an E-Certificate of Participation. 3. Winners will receive an E-Certificate of Recognition. 4, Any unnecessary comments will be automatically removed by the game organizers. 5. Taking screenshots/ photos during the pre-record of the game proper and uploading any related details/ images are not allowed. After the live streaming on the day’s event, we will share to you those photos. There is a committee that will monitor your accounts and once you violated the rule about uploading, your team will be automatically disqualified,
