The music therapist will invite the client to become the “D.J.” and to share whichever song speaks to them in the present moment. 2. The client will play their preferred music (through whichever means are most accessible in the music therapy space). 3. After each song, the music therapist will first ask “what about that song spoke to you today” as a starting point for verbal discussions exploring the client’s mood, thoughts, sensations, etc. 4. When the client is done sharing music, or the session has concluded, the music therapist will acknowledge the client’s successful role being D.J. Source: James Brown
