1. Why is so important the use of the dictionary learning a language?

The usefulness of the bilingual dictionary, as a fundamental tool in

learning, is not only because it allows the student to expand their flow
lexicon, but because it gives you the opportunity to learn more with a
greater lexicographic content to decode and encode supplied information
that you need when broadcasting a statement
2. Write down 5 types of dictionaries and explain their use in a brief way.

a) Normative:
They contain terms that are considered correct according to the standard. For the
spanish language, it is the reference work for secondary and high scool students.
b) Of Synonyms and antonyms:

In these dictionaries’ words of similar and opposite meaning are related, to

facilitate the choice of these when writing texts. The simplest ones are
limited to giving a list of words for each entry, but some more complex
ones also indicate the differences in nuance with the searched word,
without being a thesaurus
c) Monolingual:
They briefly explain the meaning of the words of a giver language.These dictionaries
do not contain unlike bilingual ones, definitons that include equivalents in other
languages.

d) Bilingual:
Dictionaries that consist of translating a word from one language to another, for
example, from spanish to. English and vice versa. They are generally used when
studying a language other that the mother tonge or when looking for a Word that is
written or spoken in another language and is not known in the mother tange.
e) Grammar:

In these dictionaries words are not ordered, but grammatical structures. Its main use
is for people who are learning a foreing language since it allows them to search for
gramatical structures of a text and consult their meaning and construction.

4. Look in your bilingual dictionary for the list of abbreviations and indicate the
meanning of the following (they are related to parts of the speech).

5. Translate into Spanish the following words related to your career.

6. Write 3 lines in English giving the definition of the Dictionary.

The dictionary is a book that collects, in alphabetical order, the words that
make up a language and clarifies their different meanings. It can be used
both to check the meaning of a word and its spelling.
