Medical Device: Announcement (8)-2017

Dear suppliers:
We would like to bring to your kind attention to the following points:
1. All shipments imported must first be granted with a preapproval before it arrives to the
Kingdom of Bahrain ports. (please take this point as a high priority in order to avoid
paying demerges while your shipments are on hold at customs)
2. The Outlined Combined medical device classification criteria published on Nov.2016,
is now fully effective for all suppliers as the grace period provided has ended ( All the
requirements must be met in order to classify the product as a combined medical
device)
3. A list of approved reference countries has been published on our website, that
companies may reference in their combined medical device documents submission,
where applicants must obtain Certificates of Free Sale from reference countries
including the Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy,
Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, UK, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland,
Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Canada, USA or only KSA.
