MADAGASCAR – THE ISLAND COUNTRY IN THE INDIAN OCEAN
Madagasccar can be classified into five different types of natural landscape based on the geographical features that dominated the country. The first natural landscape is The East Coast, it contains of a narrow band of lowlands. It lies over fifty kilometers area that ends at The Canal Del Pangalanes which is an 800-kilometers long lagoon. it has been used both as a means of transportation up and down the coast and as a fishing area. The east coast is considered dangerous for swimmers and sailors because of the large number of sharks that frequent the shoreline. Instead of swimming you can do a lot of activities here such as a cultural tour, a motorized raid, and being massaged by the beach. The second natural landscape is The Tsaratanana Massif, a region at the north end of the island which is the highest point of the island, the mountainous topography of the Tsaratanana Massif limits the pontential port at Antsiranana. The most popular activity you can do here is hiking. The third natural landscape is The Central Highlands, this region contains a wide variety of topographies from rounded and eroded hills to eroded paneplains that already converted into rice fields. The activities you can do here are learn and experience how to plant in the rice fields, you can also explore the beautiful yet natural scenery here The forth natural landscape is The Westcoast, contains of another narrow band of lowlands. But this region is more indented than The East Coast, the indented topography of this region serves a large numbers of harbor, most of the activity to do here is shopping at the market nearby or enjoying the scenery at the harbor The last natural landscape is The Southwest, This landscape contains of the desert region and Mahafaly Plateau. It is bordered by the Ivokoany Massif in the east and Roiniforme in the north. This regions also contains many endemic plants and animal. The activities you can do here is limited because of the weather, but you can enjoy the historical vibes here also the beautiful scenery
