Unlocking RSB Certification - Brief

2:30pm – 4:00pm CET | Thursday 18th November 2021


This session will be an informative and interactive introduction to members, operators,
partners and other stakeholders on how to get the best use out of RSB’s current set of tools,
plus engage with the audience on what tools they would like to see in the future. This
session will give attendees the opportunity to:

 Learn more about the practical tools & solutions offered by the RSB;
 Explore examples and case studies where these tools are being used to mitigate
sustainability risks and address sustainability in supply chains;
 Develop knowledge to help apply the RSB tools the context of their own company
and supply chain.

Tools that this session will cover include the RSB Risk Assessment Tool, the RSB Screening
Tool and the RSB Greenhouse Gas Tool.
The session will be an e-learning opportunity for members and other stakeholders in how to
effectively use all that the RSB has to offer. We will do this by splitting the session into four
parts with each part focusing on a different tool and with a different style of learning to keep
the session engaging.

RSB Risk Assessment Tool (20 Minutes)

 Context of Risk - Explanation of why addressing risk is important to a


company that wants to address sustainability issues within their supply chain.
 RSB Risk Assessment Tool – RSB risk management procedure, the risk
assessment tool, how to use the tool and what the results will look like / be
interpreted.
 PowerPoint video / animation with some whiteboard explaining with voice (8-
10 minutes).

RSB Screening Tool (20 Minutes)

 Context of sustainability issues, linking it in with the RSB P&C.


 How the screening tool can be used to identify areas of sustainability issues,
why we have the tool and why companies need to use it.
 PowerPoint video / animation with some whiteboard explaining with voice (8-
10 minutes). – talk to the consultant about how best to approach this.

RSB Greenhouse Gas Tool (20 Minutes)

 Context of climate change, GHG emissions and why it is included with the
RSB P&C.
 Recorded demonstration of the tool using a real life example or case study
(10 minutes). This would be an update to the 2019 version which can be
found on YouTube here. After this a stakeholder would discuss their
experiences.
Project Timeline
04 Oct – 08 Oct The Proposals and potential consultants.
11 Oct – 13 Oct Evaluate the proposals and costs.
15 Oct Put contracts in place.
18 Oct – 05 Nov Consultant Works on Project including a bi-weekly check-in.
08 Nov – 12 Nov RSB corrections and adaptation. Consultant should be free to assist during
this period.
