Gender related problems

- based on statistics, 7/10 people experienced sexual, verbal, and career discrimination in their entire
lives. This has something to do with the career path that they've chosen. It became a stereotype that
feminine and not-so skilled jobs are supposed to be done by women, and those hardcore jobs must only
be done by men. When people to choose their career the other way around, there is higher tendency
for them to be questioned, or worse, even their gender preference.

- when it comes to benefits being enjoyed by all genders, it is deemed proper to say that not all of us
are having the same or equal benefits as to another. A classic example for this is the maternity leave for
women, so as paternity leave with men, but nothing with queers. If we are to analyse, these people
has families too. Meaning to say, even if they are natural carrier or bearer of the children they are
rearing, it is actually their right to at least have something that will give them quality time with their
own families.

- another gender related problem is the attire that should be worn by the people, whether it might be in
office or school. Some of the companies are still not allowing queers to wear the clothes they are
comfortable with for the reason that it doesn't look professional at all.

Gender related issues

-the most common gender related issue is the insufficiency of gender neutral restrooms in most of our
facilities or establishment. Given the fact that not all of us are comfortable having queers with us inside
a restroom, there should have at least an designated all-gender restrooms in every mall, school, or
offices.

- the topic about being open to same sex marriage is still a pending and hot issue here in the country.
Since we are in a Christian and conservative community, this bill called SOGIE Bill is being opposed by
most of the spiritual leaders and other people here in the Philippines as they say, it is a clear violation of
what was written on the Bible that only man and women can be wed, and they don't believe that queers
do have enough privelages on our existing laws that this bill will only result to them abusing their rights
as queer community.

- lastly, one of the common gender related issues is the topic of sexually transmitted diseases. People
always stereotypes the fact that gay people has a higher tendency of acquiring this infections as they are
not performing sexual activities in the normal heterosexual relationships. But to dismiss this fact, even
heterosexual couples are prone of having these diseases once they've performed sexual activities
without protection.
