Answer the questions :

1. In the development of law in Islam there are several terms related to law, namely sharia,
fiqh and Islamic law :
a. Explain what is meant by sharia, fiqh, and Islamic law along with the ulama who
mention these meanings!
b. Differences and similarities between sharia, fiqh, and Islamic law

2. The development of the Tarikh Tasyri at the time of the Prophet Muhammad Pbuh. can
be distinguished in two phases: first, the Makkah phase; and second, the Medina phase:
a. Explain the characteristics of the Tarikh Tasyri in the stages of Mecca and Medina!
b. Why is the development of the Tarikh Tasyri' in the stages of Mecca and Medina
different? explain your reasons!
c. Explain your opinion regarding the ijtihad carried out by the Prophet Muhammad and
what happens if the ijtihad is wrong!
3. After the Prophet Muhammad passed away, the government was carried out by Khulafaur
Rashidun, namely Abu Bakr, Umar bin Abi Talib. Ustman bi Affan, and Ali bin Abi
Talib:
a. Explain the development of tasyri 'in every periods of leadership of the khulafaur
rasyidun !
b. Explain the services of each caliph to the codification of the Holy Quran !
c. Mention 2 (two) examples of differences of opinion among khulafaur rasyidun about
Islamic law and also mention their respective reasons / argumentations.!

4. After the leadership of the khulafaur rasyidin ended, the Islamic caliphate was continued
by the Umayyads, the system of government that was previously based on democracy
shifted to a monarchical system :
a. Explain the meaning of Ahlul Hadith and Ahlur Ra'yi and where the center of the
movement of each of these schools and the factors of their appearance!
b. Explain the development of tasyri 'at this time clearly and briefly!
c. Explain the step by step of hadith codification at this time !

5. In the context of the Tarikh Tasyri, the Abbasid period is considered the most brilliant
period in the development and progress of Islamic law and the tradition of Islamic fiqh
studies in accordance with the progress of the times. It was at this time that a number of
famous scholars were born whose names were engraved in the history of Islamic:
a. Mention the factors that led to the progress of Islamic tasyri 'at the time of the
Abbasids!
b. What legal sources have been agreed upon and what legal sources are still being
debated??
c. Explain the characteristics of Islamic tasyri 'at the time of the Abbasids.
