INNOVATIVE METHOD FOR MAINTENANCE OF

SCHOOL LAVATORY SYSTEM
ABSTRACT:
As per the regulation of central government of India ‘SWACHHA BHARAT
SCHEME’, the central government of India has proposed for a proposal of ‘
INNOVATIVE LAVATORY SYSTEM’ based on six factors of criteria, our
project is based on the factor ‘MAINTENANCE OF LAVATORY SYSTEM IN
SCHOOOLS AT RURAL AREAS’. Due to the reason of lack of maintenance in
the school lavatory system or by the reason of lack of labors and Water resources,
the health and hygiene of the students is getting affected, so the project is
completely based on the innovative idea for maintaining the lavatory system and
health and hygiene in educational institutions. The project computes the less usage
of water resource and provides a system for the re-usage of used water by the
means of reverse osmosis process.

The work progress of the project is to collect all the lavatory waste and the water
used for cleaning the waste in a collecting tank, where there is a filtering
membrane is partially fixed, in the filter the lavatory waste is collected and the
water is filtered and precipitated into the collecting tank, in that collecting tank we
are providing a piston which is going to be used and act like an reverse osmosis
piston, when the precipitation of water is completed the filtration process is started,
in the filtration process the tank contain 3 nos of filters as per screening level,
when the process of filtration is completed the filtered water is let to be collected in
a sump which is provided under the ground level.
In the underground sump, we are providing the stones and pebbles for the purpose
of Re-filtering the water, when the filtration process in sump is over the
chlorination is added, for reason of neglecting the odour respectively.

When the total process of filtration is over the filtered water is pumped into a water
storage tank, which is located in the terrace of the lavatory system.
