How was the condition of Indonesia's energy right now?

Indonesia is a country that has a lot of potential abundant resources. Both from nature and
humans. All of these are units that are used to prosper the country. Because everyone in Indonesia and
the world has the right to use energy in sustaining life. From there the energy demand is obtained so
that countries including Indonesia must provide so that there is no gap in the energy needs of each
person in their country.

For the condition of Indonesia's energy demand itself, it can be said that it is in a slightly less
favourable condition. Even before Covid-19 became a pandemic in 2020, Indonesia's energy demand
was still massive. Several methods have been developed to fulfil this. Starting from the development
of EBT to the best technological innovations in the process of discovering and extracting natural
resources

Indonesia’s Government Policy Regarding 1 Million Barrel of Oil Per Day

In solving the national oil and gas demand, Indonesia has done various things to achieve it.
From innovation either from upstream or downstream quality improvement. However, Indonesia still
has a lot of work to do to achieve a positive oil production curve. For oil reserves, the potential is
around 4.17 billion barrels and proven is 2.44 billion barrels. Meanwhile, natural gas has potential
reserves of around 6.2 trillion cubic feet and proven reserves of 43.6 trillion cubic feet.

Therefore, Indonesia is determined to increase oil production by 1 million BOPD and gas by 12
BSCFD in 2030. Joko Widodo at the Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA), Wednesday
(1/9/2021). In order to achieve such a large target, all actors in the upstream oil and gas industry must
be able to carry out various strategies that have been designed by the government seriously.

There have been many excellent government programs in carrying out this national goal. One of them
is the Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) program. The goal is to accelerate advanced production, both
from secondary and tertiary recovery, which can contribute to additional national oil production. The
Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) program itself has been widely implemented in upstream work areas
in Indonesia to achieve the goal of 1 million BOPD.

Potential Natuna Island for Offshore Field to Achieved 1 Million BOPD in 2030

Natuna Island is located in the Riau Islands Province, Indonesia. This island has always been
a topic about its natural resources which still have great potential that has not been taken. This comes
based on Monday, January 25, 2021, China announced the discovery of oil and gas in the North
Natuna Sea. The Global Times claims that oil and gas reserves of around 50 million cubic meters.
However, after testing the well, at least the location produces up to 500 cubic meters of crude oil and
600.00 cubic meters of natural gas per day.
This is a disaster as well as an advantage for Indonesia. The advantage is that this potential can be a
big step in implementing and achieving the national goal, 1 million BOPD. However, the disaster is
that other countries have observed this considerable potential for their benefit. Therefore, Indonesia
must take advantage of this potential immediately.

Not only oil, but natural gas is also very abundant. From CNN Indonesia, the Ministry of Energy and
Mineral Resources (ESDM) stated that the potential for gas reserves in the East Natuna field is quite
large. However, due to the low demand, there will be no follow-up because there will be no shortage
of gas.

What’s Indonesia Needs Right Now?

Indonesia has carried out many programs and strategies to achieve 1 million BOPD. As well
as the potential of the work area which can be said to have a lot of potentials to support the
achievement of this. However, what makes this achievement not yet fully implemented?

The utilization of opportunities and opportunities in Indonesia on the potential of oil and gas has not
been fully utilized. The government must support safeguarding the domestic upstream oil and gas
industry by increasing oil and gas exploration, improving the investment climate, providing regulatory
certainty, as well as political stability and security.

The Indonesian Oil and Gas Special Task Force (SKK) has a major role in the oil and gas production
process. All of these innovations are expected to increase oil and gas production. The best technology
can keep production numbers positive.

Therefore We, from PERTAMAXX will provide the best solution to achieve Indonesia's national goal
of 1 million BOPD. By utilizing EOR Low-Salinity Waterflooding technology.
