Acceptance of the study place and enrolment (see also the attached Acceptance letter for more
information)

You have to confirm the study place mentioned above latest by 16 th July 2021 at 3 pm (EEST) or you will
lose the study place (Universities Act 38 § and 43 § / Polytechnics Act 28c § 32 §). Accepting a study
place is a binding choice, and you cannot cancel or change your choice later. When you accept a study
place bindingly, all your other study programmes will automatically be cancelled and you will not be
considered a first-time applicant in future applications.

If you want to accept the study place, but you are not able to start your studies in Finland in August
2021, please contact Admissions Office by email: admissions@samk.fi

If you have applied to several degree programmes, please ensure that you are aware of the one study
place per term provision.  According to this provision, a student may accept only one study place leading
to a higher education degree in Finland in education that begins in the same academic term.  Read more

Enroll as present for the academic year 2021-2022 by paying the tuition fee.
Enclosed you will find the information, how to pay the tuition fee. You will be considered as being
present for the academic year 2021-2022 after you’ve paid the tuition fee. If you don’t pay the tuition
fee by the deadline given in the attachment or if you don’t a required reason for being absent, you will
lose your study right in SAMK.

Please notice that acceptance is conditional until all the original certificates used in the admission
process are checked.

NB! If possible, start your immigration clearance process immediately, as the study permit may take
months to be issued. You can start the process online at EnterFinland (https://enterfinland.fi/eServices).
The Finnish Student Health Service

Please notice that starting in January 2021, students in universities of applied sciences and universities
who are entitled to use the services of the Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS, Finnish abbreviation
YTHS) must pay a healthcare fee to Kela. From 1 st of January 2021 onwards, all degree students in higher
education will be entitled to use FSHS services, if they have registered as an attending student for a
particular term. The health care fee must be paid to KELA every term, i.e. twice a year. Please note that
KELA will not send you an invoice, so you must pay the fee on your own initiative. The due dates will
depend on the date of your registration as an attending student.  More information of the healthcare

education Do not confuse this payment with the insurance you need to have when applying for a
residence permit.
