BEST PRACTICES IN ICT AT EGSES

ICT (Information and Communication Technology) plays an important role in our daily living. ICT
is defined as the basis for developing and using telecommunication and computer system in the
broadest sense. ICT includes hardware, software and netware as well as institutional, financial, cultural
and application related parameter that determine how ICT will be shaped and developed by society at
large.

At EGSES, ICT is being used in the presentation of SLAC (School Learning Action Cell) wherein
laptop and projector is present.

In learning, ICT functional laboratory is use by pupils in doing documents, presentations and
other computer applications. Eugenio G. Sy Tamco Elementary School was recognized first place under
most functional computer ICT laboratory.

Key lessons learn in ICT includes:

1. It’s about people, not technology - It’s keeping the big picture in mind and the challenges you’re
looking to help people overcome.

2. Understand the local environment – Engage with the project participants who will use
technology.

3. Use appropriate tools – The technology is affordable and can be easily maintain.

4. Use iterative Project Planning Cycle - Allow to iterate and refine ideas based upon feedback.

5. Build in monitoring and evaluation - It help establish a framework.

Some of these are guides in working ICT at EGSES. One of the greatest strengths of ICTs is to bring
learning to life through a diversity of multimedia resources. In particular games, videos and audio
learning.
