The acronym ‘PALAVILLA’ comes from the three pioneer settlers’ surname, PA-Paja,
LA-Lalisan, and VILLA-Susvilla. The school was opened in 1972. It is 8 kilometers away
from the poblacion of Tamnag, Lutayan, Sultan Kudarat and 54 kilometers away from the
Division of Sultan Kudarat.
In 1971, due to a manmade calamity the vacated residence of late Julio Somodio was
used as temporary school building. It started with Grade 1 and 2 only, handled by a
probationary teacher Ms. Inocencia D. Salvan.
Mr. Pedro Samson who was the District Supervisor at that time challenged the
community that on his next visit the pupils will be house already in a temporary school
building.
Mr. Lazaro Ablanido, a very supportive parent offered his 1 hectare of land to the
barangay to be the site of the school. Through Bayanihan, the parents and the barangay
officials worked together to build a makeshift building for the schoolchildren.
Mr. Samson marked his word and visit again and he was surprised to see from the
distance a flag waiving in front of the temporary school building.
In May 1978 because of the rapid increase of the enrollment, the barangay officials
and parents decided to purchase the school site and later they have been donated this to
DECS with the initiative of the late Barangay Captain, Crisostomo Lalisan.
Since then, Palavilla Elementary School cater a quality-access basic education within
the locality and its neighboring barangays. It also known to become one of the competitive
school within the municipality which manifested by Academic Competitions, Socio-Cultural
Events and Sports Activities.
At present, Palavilla Integrated School offers Junior High School program (Grade 7
to Grade 8) and it was on its vision to have a complete Junior and Senior High School in
more coming years.
