前言
金爵电 Preface
上海国际电影节产业论坛肇始2004年，应运中国电影产业化的起航。时至
今日，金爵电影论坛与评奖、展映、市场共同组成了上影节不可分割的主体。
它的成长历程是中国电影革新、发展之路的侧影，投射了上海乃至国内、国际
电影环境的变化。
金爵电影论坛是中外电影节展里少有的论坛品牌，它来自组委会的原创自
主策划，体现了上影节的品牌与特色——既着眼热点、时兴，更关照前沿与专
业，亦有政策发布、惠民教育的使命。它以开阔的心态搭起了业界、学界多方
交流的平台。
上海影城的门口、银星皇冠的大堂，看电影的观众、注册的来宾，熙熙攘
攘，来来往往，皆为热爱电影而来。金爵电影论坛将关注电影艺术与产业问题
的人们汇合在这里，论道问路，电影人生。
Founded in 2004, the industry forum of Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) was born under
the rising industrialization of Chinese cinema. Currently, SIFFORUM, together with the Golden
Goblet Awards, Film Panorama, and Film Market, forms the primary part of SIFF. It represents the
growth and innovation of Chinese cinema and has witnessed the changes taking place within the
dynamic film industry in Shanghai, China, and even the entire world.
SIFFORUM is one of the few forum brands affiliated with domestic or foreign film festivals.
It is independently organized by the SIFF organizing committee, and it reflects SIFF’s unique
characteristics—embracing popular and cutting-edge topics while maintaining professionalism
and benefiting the general public. With its diversity and open-mindedness, SIFFORUM has long
served as a platform for filmmakers, and scholars to openly communicate and exchange ideas.
Shanghai Film Art Center and Crowne Plaza Shanghai are always crowded with movie fans and
event guests, all connected through the same passion for film. SIFFORUM has brought together
people who care deeply about cinema and the film industry to discuss related policies and
industry outlook.

金爵电 SIFFORUM Overview
金爵电影论坛作为上海国际电影节官方主体活动，坚持打造高质量国内外
电影文化交流平台。从产业格局、电影创作、技术前沿、人才培养、文化交流
等角度切入，通过产业对话和电影学堂等不同形式，聚焦产业链前中后端，探
讨国内外电影的未来发展方向，充分体现电影节的敏锐性、专业性、前瞻性。
本届上海国际电影节金爵电影论坛涵盖：开幕论坛“电影产业高峰论坛：
共圆百年梦•启航新征程”、“SIFF YOUNGx上海青年影人扶持计划和静安区
影视产业政策发布暨青年影人论坛”、“主旋律电影的市场化探索”、“虚拟
与现实——电影制作新变革”、“金爵奖评委主席论坛：黄建新”、“长三角
电影合作论坛”、“重塑想象•定义未来——中国科幻电影新思考”等七场产
业论坛。电影学堂则邀请阿彼察邦•韦拉斯哈古、丹尼斯•塔诺维奇、甄子丹、
亚历山大•索科洛夫、阿伯德拉马纳•希萨柯等国内外电影大师与资深影人分享
对电影的独特理解以及创作经验。

As the major event of SIFF, SIFFORUM is committed to creating a high-quality

film and cultural exchange platform for China and the world. Bringing in the
perspectives of industry layout, film production, technological frontiers, talent
cultivation, and cultural exchange, with an emphasis on the front, middle, and
back ends of the industry chain, it discusses the future directions of domestic and
foreign films through events such as industry dialogues and SIFF MasterClass. It
fully embodies the vision, professionalism, and foresight of SIFF.
This year’s SIFFORUM includes the opening session “Chinese Film Industry
Summit”, “SIFF YOUNG Forum: To Meet with the Talented”, “Marketing Strategy
of Mainstream Cinema”, “Virtuality And Reality: New Changes in Film Production”,
“Golden Goblet MasterClass: In Conversation with Huang Jianxin”, “Yangtze River
Delta Film Cooperation Forum”, and “Reshape Imagination and Redefine the Future:
New Thoughts of Chinese Sci-Fi Movies”. On the other hand, SIFF MasterClass
invites Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Danis Tanovi ć , Donnie Yen, Aleksandr
Sokurov, Abderrahmane Sissako, and other domestic and international film masters
and senior filmmakers to share their understandings of cinema and their personal
creative experience.

2020年，新冠疫情波及全球电影市场，中国电影产业率先复工复产，全国总票房达
204.17亿元，年度票房前10名均为国产电影，占比83.72%。
在疫情防控常态化条件下，电影工作者为实现产业良性循环凝心聚力，以优质内容传
递中国精神，构筑中国价值，彰显中国力量。正值中国共产党成立百年之际，中国电影
如何发掘多样题材，提高创作品质，打造建党百年电影精品？如何保持电影市场活力，
充分释放电影消费潜力？如何加强中国电影的国际叙事能力，传递中国精神和中国价

Opening Session: Chinese Film Industry Summit
In 2020, the outbreak of COVID-19 cast a gloom over the global film market. The Chinese film industry had
managed to resume work and production relatively early, achieving an annual nationwide box-office gross
of 20.417 billion Chinese Yuan. The 10 highest-grossing films of the year were all domestic productions,
accounting for 83.72% of the total box office.
Under the context of the pandemic as well as its necessary safety protocols, in an effort to achieve mutual
growth and support among all stakeholders of the film industry, filmmakers work together to produce high-
quality creative works while passing on the Chinese spirit and values and demonstrating China’s strength.
At the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of China, how can the Chinese film industry expand
creative themes, improve production quality, and create high-quality films in honor of the 100th anniversary
of the Communist Party of China? How to maintain the vitality of the film market and fully unleash the
potential of film consumption? How to enhance the narrative of Chinese films from an international
perspective and convey the Chinese spirit and values? With the above questions in mind, this forum invites
leading figures from domestic film companies to offer insights into the potential of China’s film industry.

Cheng Wu joined Tencent in 2009. He initiated and implemented the “Pan-Entertainment

Strategy” (Internet-enabled trans-media strategy) in 2011, promoting the launch of
businesses like comics, literature, film & television, and e-sports. Cheng Wu became the CEO
of Tencent Pictures after it was founded in 2015 and further proposed the strategic idea of
“Neo-Culture Creativity”, which became Tencent’s core strategy in the cultural dimension.

Fu Ruoqing is Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice-Chairman of China Film

FU Ruoqing professor-level senior engineer, a winner of the National Four Batch Program, one of 2018
Top 10 Figures of the Year of China's Cultural Industry, the winner of Best Distributor at
the CineAsia, and a recipient of special government allowance from the State Council. He
presided over the construction of the State Production Base of China Film Group and led the
research and development of film projection system CINITY, which obtained a technology
patent in China and international recognition. As a producer, he has participated in the
production and distribution of over 100 excellent films represented by "The Sacrifice", "Cliff
Walkers", "My People, My Country", "My People, My Homeland", and "Hi, Mom".

Yu Dong, founder, Chairman, and CEO of Bona Film Group Ltd., is one of the most successful

In recent years, many young filmmakers have produced outstanding film works with unique characteristics
through professional filmmaking and narrative techniques. These works have gained the favor of and
been recognized by various film festivals, film markets, and the general audience. Life is the source of
creative works. Young filmmakers have started to express their very own ideas of society and life more
and more through their films. However, with the rapid growth of Chinese film industry and increasing
global communication, the market has required films to show diversity. How would the new generation
of young filmmakers react when self-expression is in conflict with the demand of the film market? From
the perspective of the industry, what are the measures to increase international competitiveness and
communication of Chinese films, to provide more Chinese faces for global cinema, and to effectively tell
Chinese stories with international expressions. In this forum, recommenders and selected young filmmakers

Currents Competition at the 25th Busan International Film Festival and won the FIPRESCI

奖最佳导演奖。2016年，导演饶晓志执导同名话剧改编的电影《你好，疯
子！》上映，作为其电影处女作赢得业内好评。2018年，饶晓志导演的电影
《无名之辈》更是以黑马之姿，收获了票房与口碑的双丰收。2021年，饶晓
志执导的电影《人潮汹涌》于春节档上映，凭借高口碑完成了票房逆袭。从
话剧到电影，导演饶晓志成功完成了其创作领域的开拓，极具个人风格的荒
诞喜剧为观众留下了深刻印象。
Director Rao Xiaozhi is a graduate of the Central Academy of Drama. He directed theatrical
productions such as “Hello, Robbery!” and “The Insanity” and have won many drama

RAO Xiaozhi his debut feature film “The Insanity” was released, which was adapted from his stage play
with the same title. It was highly praised by the film industry. His second feature “A Cool

work “Endgame” was released in the 2021 Spring Festival Season and achieved a box-
office strike-back due to its marvelous reputation. From theatre to cinema, Rao has achieved
cross-field success with his signature style of dark comedy which has given the audience a

Wang Jing is a director graduated from the Department of Directing of Beijing Film Academy.
Jing’s graduation work “Boy In Cage”, which he co-directed, won Outstanding Short Film in
the 6th International Student Film and Video Festival of Beijing Film Academy. Jing started
his directorial career in 2007 as a commercial director and documentary director, and later he
began focusing on film production. As an executive director, Jing took part in the production

Jan HEINZE Jan joined PIXOMONDO in 2000 and has been working until today. In his role as one of
PIXOMONDO’s COOs, he was responsible for the setup of several facilities in Germany. He
was involved in the development and establishment of production standards and pipelines,
to ensure a smooth operation on projects across time zones with its studios and partners in
a 24/7 mode. In October 2009, Jan took up residence in China to oversee the development
of the PIXOMONDO facilities in Shanghai and Beijing, and successfully launched a sub-
brand in Shanghai. Meanwhile, his strong leadership and deep understanding of Chinese
local market enabled the facility to continuously produce world-class shows and projects,
including for “Sucker Punch”, “Fast and Furious 5”, “Red Tails”, “Hugo”, “Gone With the
Bullet”, “Impossible”, “Skip Trace”, etc. Recently, PIXOMONDO Beijing worked on the visual

Ma Ping serves as Deputy General Manager of State Production Base of China Film
Group and Deputy Director of High Technology Committee of China Film and Television
Institute of Technology. He is also a member of the Committee for Science and Technology
Communication and Film and Television Integration of China Association for Science and
Technology and a council member of the Chinese Society of Cinematographers. He has
participated in more than 200 films as a producer, visual director, supervising, or colorist.
After Graduating from the Special Class for Gifted Young of Xi'an Jiaotong University in
1994, Ma Ping entered the film and television industry and has completed many films as a
director, producer, or filmmaker. Starting from 2000, he has established and improved the
digital production system of Chinese cinema from scratch. He has won many domestic and
international awards for his works. He has been cited many times for his dedication by the
Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, the institutions directly under the
CPC Central Committee, and SARFT. He is known as "China's no. 1 colorist" with his years of
in-depth involvement in film and television technology. Ma Ping has also led the development
of the China Film Shensi AI Image Restoration and Enhancement System, which achieved
the resolution enhancement from standard definition to 4K for the first time and won the
China Radio, Film and Television High-tech R&D Award in 2018. His major works include
“The Knot”, “Amazing China”, “Company of Heroes”, “Wolf Totem”, “Beginning of the Great
Revival”, “The Founding of a Republic”, “The Golden Era”, “Forever Young”, and “City of Life

Golden Goblet MasterClass: In Conversation with Huang
Jianxin
Huang Jianxin is one of the representative figures of the “Fifth Generation”. He has won numerous
prominent awards, including the Huabiao Awards, the Golden Rooster Awards, and the Hong Kong Film
Awards, and is known as one of the most important directors in China among international film critics and
the press. This year, Shanghai International Film Festival is honored to have Mr. Huang as the President of
the Jury of the Golden Goblet Awards. Also, his newest feature “1921” will be released soon.
The film “1921” is a five-year production that brings together the efforts and creativity of hundreds of
Chinese filmmakers. Taking an international angle, the film breaks the typical chronicle narrative strategy
of mainstream films and tells the story of the 13 delegates gathering in Shanghai to hold the First National
Congress of Communist Party of China from a whole new perspective. How should films portray the
characters vividly and present splendid images? What kind of poetic or modern visual expressions are
used? How can young actors accurately portray the founders of CPC in their youth? In this forum, Huang
Jianxin, together with a few members of the cast, will tell the story of the making of “1921”.

Ren Ning is one of the most well-known producers in the film and television industries,
and she has produced a lot of exceedingly well-received movies and won many significant
awards. “Dearest” was awarded the Outstanding Film at the 16th Huabiao Film Awards
and was nominated for Best Picture of the 34th Hong Kong Film Awards. “The Taking of
Tiger Mountain” was awarded Outstanding Film at the 33rd Hundred Flowers Awards.
“The Founding of an Army” won Outstanding Film at the 34th Hundred Flowers Awards and
Outstanding Film at the 17th Huabiao Film Awards. In 2017, “Us and Them” was nominated

Yangtze River Delta Film Cooperation Forum
The Yangtze River Delta film and television industry is open, international, and market-oriented, and it
unites the advantages of Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui to provide a solid foundation for the
integrated development of the region. In 2019, the Yangtze River Delta Film Distribution Alliance was
established to build a framework for all-round cooperation among the three provinces and Shanghai.
In terms of cinema, what are the respective advantages of Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui? How to
achieve mutual resource sharing while keeping in mind the regional differences? Can regional integration
facilitate the industrialization of Chinese cinema and, if so, what are the core aspects? With the above

Reshape Imagination and Redefine the Future: New
Thoughts on Chinese Sci-Fi Movies
Science fiction is the imagination and reflection of the future from technology and civilization today,
with aspiration, exploration, and reflection of mankind for the unknown. Science fiction is one of the
most important film genres as it represents the level of the technology, innovation, imagination, and
industrialization of a country’s cinema. “The Wandering Earth” opened a new era for Chinese science fiction
films in 2019. In August 2020, China Film Administration and China Association for Science and Technology
issued “Several Opinions on Promoting the Development of Science Fiction Films”. It stated Science fiction
films as an important growth point and motivator for high-quality film development. How can Chinese
science fiction films find their unique characteristics, and how do we build a science and aesthetic, as
well as industrial system. With these questions in mind, this forum invites Chinese filmmakers along with
representatives from the science and technology and science fiction communities to discuss the blueprint
for Chinese science fiction films as well as the technology and cultural industry.

Chen Qiufan is a science fiction writer, screenwriter, translator, and curator. He graduated

SIFF MasterClass
Two years ago, we sent our first invitation of SIFF MasterClass to Apichatpong Weerasethakul,
but he was unable to attend due to a conflict in schedule. Finally, this April, he accepted our
invitation and proposed to invite a Chinese filmmaker to be the co-speaker. Immediately, Jia Zhang-
ke became our first choice. In 2020, the two directors’ written dialogue in the Filmkrant magazine
struck a chord with cinephiles worldwide. Jia was glad to attend and turn this proposal into reality.
In 2001, “No Man’s Land” stunned the 54th Cannes Film Festival, and the director Danis Tanović
rose to international fame. The Bosnian director is known for his depictions of common people in
wartime, and his detached and attentive film language has won him international acclaim. We
look forward to having him share his new projects and present the condensed beauty of war films.
Regarding Chinese filmmakers, we have invited the martial artist, actor, and director Donnie Yen, who
is a household name. He returns to Shanghai, bringing his new film “Raging Fire”. Yen’s 40-year-long
exploration of martial arts has taken him around the world, with works such as the “Ip Man” franchise
gaining huge domestic and international recognition. He has also set up Yen’s Stunt Team to pass on
Chinese martial arts. This year, we are pleased to have this legendary martial artist share his stories.
As one of the greatest living Russian directors, Aleksandr Sokurov shocked the world with his 96-minute
one-shot film “Russian Ark”. His works are not only technically exquisite, but also possess idiosyncratic
philosophies of history, art, and life. We have also invited Marco Müller, an Italian producer and film critic
who currently resides in Shanghai, to be the co-speaker. Müller has been the producer of two of Sokurov’s
films. Through this event, we hope that Chinese film fans can acquire a more in-depth understanding
of Sokurov and his works and also obtain a greater appreciation for the beauty of global cinema.
An old friend of ours, the Mauritanian director Abderrahmane Sissako served as a Jury member of the
Golden Goblet Award in 2016, where he met director Pema Tseden, who was also on the Jury. The two
directors’ shared memories of the Festival made Pema Tseden the perfect co-speaker. Now that five years
have passed, although separated by thousands of miles, they are still excited for their long-awaited reunion.
No man is an island. In the greeting videos, Apichatpong greets us in the jungle

of Chiang Mai with the ambient sound of cicadas, while Sissako, who lives as far
a s w e s t e r n A f r i c a , s a y s , “ We a r e c o n n e c t e d b y t h e p a s s i o n a n d b e l i e f i n c i n e m a ” .
Never before have we so heartily experienced the destiny shared by filmmakers.
Cinema has given us the privilege to stand on the shoulders of giants and have a bird’s eye view of the

Apichatpong Weerasethakul is a Thai director,

screenwriter, and producer. He was born in
Bangkok, Thailand in July 1970. As one of the
contemporary Asian cinema masters, Apichatpong
has won numerous international awards. After his
feature film debut “Mysterious Object at Noon”
(2000), he gained international recognition as an
established filmmaker. His later works “Uncle
Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives” (2010)
and “Tropical Malady” (2004) won the Palme
d’Or and Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival
respectively. Apichatpong has shown a keen
interest in exploring the dialectical symbiosis
between nature and mankind, returning to nature
through the expression of his characters’ most
ardent desires.

Aleksandr Sokurov, one of the most famous
Russian directors, was born in 1951 into the family
of a Soviet military officer. He graduated from
the history department of Ural State University in
1974, and from the directing department of the
Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in 1979.
In 1987, Sokurov’s debut feature film “The Lonely

Voice of Man” won the Bronze Leopard Award
at the Locarno International Film Festival in
Switzerland. In the same year, his other feature
film “Mournful Unconcern” was selected for the
main competition at the Berlin International Film
Festival. Since then, he has been active in the
international film circuit and has become a regular
guest at major international film festivals.
In 1997, “Mother and Son” gained international

acclaim and won the Silver St. George Award
at the 20th Moscow International Film Festival;
in 2002, the 96-minute one-shot film “Russian
Ark” was selected for the main competition at
the Cannes Film Festival; in 2011, “Faust” won
the Golden Lion at the Venice International Film
