Dear Mr President,

Hello, my name is Rahma Derouich, I’m 22 years old and a mechanical

engineering student in the National Engineering School of Monastir. I’m writing you
this letter to try to change the country’s second language to English.

French is a very good language. It is very interesting and soothing to the ear,
and its been in this country for more than a century, but I feel it's putting too much
restrains for us to move forward and join the rest of the word. It has become a huge
burden.

On the other hand, English has become an international language. It is the

most spoken in the world. The quality of English as a second language is becoming
more and more competitive due to the weight that the language carries in the modern
professional world. Speaking English is fast becoming less of a benefit and more of
an essential requirement.

More importantly, English brings many advantages in communicating with

the rest of the word. It is the most used in commercial exchanges, in the world of
tourism and economics, in all scientific and technological fields, and in everything
related to culture and the media.

Finally, speaking English allows us to actually broaden our world, from job
opportunities to the ability to relate to people from every country.

I hope I’ve somehow influenced your take on the subject, and I’m positive that
you’ll be the one to make the change for a better future.

Most respectfully,

Rahma Derouich
