and I will explain why in this essay. The most persuasive justification for my position is that the death penalty is a powerful deterrence to severe crime. This is because it instils dread in those who would not want to forfeit their life as a result of committing significant crimes. People who are contemplating murder or other violent crimes, for example, will reconsider. The crime rate would decrease as a result of this approach. Another justification for my stance is that the government will save money by not having to keep the offender in prison. If the offender is imprisoned for many years or for life, the government must pay for the tremendous costs involved, such as the cost of food for the inmates and prison officer salary. However, with a death sentence, the prisoner will spend less time in jail, which will significantly lower the expense of incarceration. Finally, with the death penalty, the dangerous criminal would never be able to reoffend. The rationale behind this is that executed offenders will no longer be alive, and hence will no longer constitute a threat to society. This would make society a more secure place. Finally, I completely agree with the viewpoint that sending severe offenders to death is helpful to countries. This is due to its deterrence impact, capacity to save the government money, and ability to keep dangerous offenders out of society indefinitely. Given this condition, it is suggested that governments all around the world consider instituting this type of punishment.
