Project Lesson C: It’s meant to be excellent

Objectives: to recommend and respond to recommendations.

Activities:
Conversation:
Work in groups of FOUR and prepare a five-minute conversation in which you will recommend and respond to
recommendations. You have to disagree with the opinions given, and suggest doing another activity. You need to
choose ONE situation and must use the useful language in the chart below as well as the grammar and vocabulary
you study in the unit.

MANDATORY: All the students will present in class.
Situation 1:
Make an arrangement with your friends. One person is hungry and you´ve heard about a new café that offers
good food and great coffee. Another person doesn´t agree with that, so you persuade your friends to go to
another place to eat, give more than two or three recommendations. Your friends accept one of those
recommendations, use the expressions given.
Situation 2:
You suggest what to do on Saturday night. You suggest watching a movie at the cinema and say why you
recommend it. Your friends or relatives say they don’t like horror movies and give some reasons. They suggest
going to a concert instead (mention a singer or band). One-person doesn´t like the idea either. So in the end,
someone recommends visiting a friend´s house and cooking special meal. Everybody accepts that idea.

going to be assessed, on the day of the project presentation.  
 
J: Hello guys, how was your weekend?
E: Good morning, Ugh. Can’t watch my favorite Serie, but… I’m ok.
J: That’s it. Try to stay positive.
E: I was getting too old because I was in my bed all the time. What you about
you Marlon?
J: Another freezing weekend.
E: How were you doing?
J: Oh, you know… freezing to death but I’d rather be elsewhere, however I’m
alright.
E: Good.
J: Yes. I suppose. And you, Martin? What did you do?
M: I had to a party
E: That sounds fun, huh? Sure.
M: Yes, it was. what about you hector?
H: I was well in my house at this weekend, but I have a lot homework.
M: well, changing the topic, why don’t we go and see the (introducir tema )
E: That´s a great idea, I like this kind of thing
H: Yes, it’s a good idea but I doubt Marlon would be interested
J: It sounds really interesting but..............(recomiendas otra cosa)
E: Oh yeah, I am a big fan of … (tema de marlon) It’s much better that martin’s
idea
M: let me check who ask for your opinion, I don’t like the idea a really prefer to
do something else
H: Let's not argue, Better why don’t we go to the….. (propone otro tema)
because that place we like or They have good reviews.
J: It's a wonderful idea
M: I agree with your idea when can we go ?
E: I guess that we could go to ….. (lugar o acticvidad elegida) when we a day
before to finish the semester, what do you think?
H: Hang on a minute, I don’t sure about that day, because I’lm going to travel to
countryside.
M: that is a pitty but where do you go? uy
H: I’m going to my grandparent’s house in Ulba, however, can we go to…..
( lugar o actividad mencionado) at the end of September.
J: One moment please, let me check. But where are going to we meet us to go?
M: I suggest that we can see us in The Fornace restaurant and then we can go
to…. (actividad a realizar)
E: I think it’s a good place before to … (poner actividad que vamos a realizar)
H: It seem to me that ok, at ten o’clock it’s ok for you?
J: That's ok for me.
E: Just a minute, I am going to consult it with my parents…
M: Whay happened? What did they tell you?
E: They told me that’s ok
H: So, we are going to join us on the end of September don’t forget guys, it’s
important for relaxing after the semester.
J: Sure, you are right, I hope to see you that day. Goodbye guys.
M: I am a big fan of speed time with you are amazing gays thanks
