Scientific notation is a way of expressing numbers that are

too large or too small to be conveniently written in decimal
form.
In scientific notation, all numbers are written in the form
K x10n,Where 1≤ K < 10, and ‘n‘ is an integer.
Example1: The mass of moon is 73,500,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg
Which can also be written as the mass of Moon is 7.35 x1022kg
Example2: A Helium atom has a diameter 0.000000022cm
Which can also be written as a helium atom has a diameter
2.2 x10−8 cm
