“THE FOLLOWING”

FADE IN:
OPENING SCENE
EXT. ESTABLISHING SHOT OF SCHOOL BUILDING.
EXT. IN AN EMPTY CLASSROOM- AFTER SCHOOL.
Inside an empty classroom, a student is writing lines on a
piece of paper that say, “I will not be late to school
again”.
The hour hand of a clock shifts to 4’clcok. A faint timer
goes off, and a teacher starts to speak to the student.
TEACHER
“OKAY, ITS FOUR NOW, YOU CAN GO, I DON’T WANT TO SEE
YOU BACK IN DETENTION WITH ME AGAIN, YOU’RE A GOOD
GIRL, YOU JUST NEED TO WORK ON YOUR PUNCTUALITY.”
STUDENT
Gets up from her chair and starts to pack her bag.
“THANKS MISS, I UNDERSTAND, YOU WONT SEE ME HERE
AGAIN, I PROMISE”
TEACHER
“GOOD, NOW GET HOME SAFE”
STUDENT
“THANKS MISS, HAVE A GOOD EVENING”
TEACHER
“YOU TOO, BYE!”

EXT. IN THE EMPTY SCHOOL CORRIODDORS

She exits the classroom and walks down the empty corridors.
Her phone rings, and she reaches into her bag to find it. It
is her mum calling her. She answers the phone. They start
talking as she is still walking.

 STUDENT:
“Hi mum (pause)
I’m still in school, I just got out of a detention
for being late (pause)
yeah I’m on my way home now (pause)
will do, see you soon (pause)
bye, love you”

The phone call ends and she is still walking through the
corridor.
Faint footsteps can be heard. She turns around, and nobody
is there.
POV shot of the masked killer looking at her walking from
behind.
The footsteps get increasingly louder. She turns around
again. She cannot see anyone. When she gets to the end of
the corridor, the masked killer, who is holding a knife can
be seen by the audience, and not her.
