PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Backup
Daily administration, performance tuning, monitoring, integration and maintenance of EMC Legato backup systems on
Cisco and Brocade fabrics.
Designed and implemented new standards, procedures, and processes related to backup technology and assisted the
team on best practices in backup and recovery.
Helped implement and maintain a new backup and recovery solution and created a support manual that covers: Break-
fix, implementation, monitoring, and support of the new environment.
Managed and optimized the enterprise monitoring system to maintain a proactive approach to systems management
and a consistently high level of uptime.
Collaborated with the Infrastructure team in the troubleshooting and resolution of backup, server, and application related
issues with respect to the tape environment.
Developed and maintained proper monitoring and reporting of utilization of the backup environment, including installing
Networker software, performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and throughput analysis, and media handling.
Worked with the OS Support teams to resolve any O/S, hardware or network-based issues that could impact optimal

Tested and implemented new releases or maintenance fix packs of EMC Legato Networker software installation and
upgrading, client, and server.
Provided off hour supports 24/7 with rotation schedule.
Troubleshot issues related to backup integrity and participated with on/offsite Disaster Recovery Testing.

Storage
Configured and administered Storage Area Network (SAN) Arrays and NAS devices and associated components
including Fiber Channel switch administration; configured and administered data restore and disaster recovery and data
backup clients and servers. Maintained storage aspects of new server integrations, storage allocation, and change
management. Setup procedures to consolidate storage of data from different platforms (i.e.: Windows, UNIX, and
Linux). Troubleshot and fixed storage issues.
Performed routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance. Storage analysis, capacity planning, and
performance planning of storage components. Documented the policies and procedures to support the operational
storage environment and participated in the design and ongoing refinement of procedures and policies. Prepared
reports on storage administration best practices, new technologies, etc.; and recommended enhancements and
configuration changes to improve and optimize storage.
Daily administration of NAS filers, monitor disk utilization and problems Create CIFS share and user account
Assigned lun, aggregate, volume, and share. Set up NDMP backup using dedicated tape drive.
Established NDMP backup using dedicated tape drive and Monitor Tape Fabric switches to ensure alleviation of any
problem. Administered daily EVA array disks, monitored disk utilization, and problems. Escalated any hardware or
software issues to HP support group, as needed.
