The Seven (7) Functions of Art:

1.Aesthetic Through art man become conscious of the beauty of nature.He benefits from his own work
and from those done by his fellow.

2.Utilitarian function with creation of various forms of arts man lives in comport and happiness. Through
art, man is provided with shelters, clothing, food, light, medicine, beautiful surroundings personal
ornaments , entertainment, language, transportation, and other necessities and conveniences in life.

3. Cultural function Through the printed matter, art transmits and preserves skills and knowledge from
one generation to another.It makes man aware of his cultural background.

4.Social function Through civic and graphic arts, man learns to love and help each other. International
understanding and cooperation are fostered and nations become more unified, friendly , cooperative
helpful, and sympathetic.

5.Political function Art reinforce and enhance a sense of identity and ideological connection to specific
political parties view and politician.

6. Educational function There are symbols and sign to illustrate knowledge and attitudes that not
express in words.

7.Spiritual Function Some arts works express spiritual beliefs, and customs,ceremonies and ritauls about
meaning and distiney of life. These art works may have religious significance.

Subject art

in any art from painting, music, sculpture, architecture or dances there is always a subject that serves as
foundation of creation of the work of art. a subject usually anything that is represented in the artwork. It
varied it may be be a person , object, scene, or event.
