EOD Warfare Officer Accessions

A limited number of Midshipmen and Officer Candidates from the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA),
Naval ROTC Units, Officer Candidate School (OCS), and Seaman to Admiral (STA-21)
commissioning programs are selected annually to join this elite officer community each year.
Candidates and selectees must demonstrate exceptional leadership potential, academic
excellence, and superior physical fitness.

*** IMPORTANT DATES ***


The Annual EOD Warfare Accession Board convenes during September for the next fiscal year
selections at the United States Naval Academy where all USNA, NROTC, and OCS selections are
made (EOD Warfare STA-21 selections are also made in September but by a different selection
board). The President of this board is typically an EOD Captain (Sitting Major Commander),
joined by an EOD Commanding Officer, Executive Officer, Department Head, Officer-in-
Charge/Platoon Commander, and an EOD Command Master Chief. All USNA and NROTC
applicants are interviewed during this process. All Accession Packages are due to the EOD OCM
no later than one week prior to the board convening. All OCS EOD Warfare Packages are due to
Navy Recruiting Command (NRC) by mid-august. Specific Time lines and Dates will be listed
under their respective Commissioning Source Tabs.
