STUDENTS HABIT IN WATCHING 2020
ENGLISH MOVIES WITH THEIR
VOCABULARY MASTERY
This study has purpose to find out
there is positive correlation between
students’ habit in watching English
movies and their vocabulary
mastery of the eighth grade of
SMPN 157 Jakarta in the academic
year of 2019/2020.

A. The Objective of the Study

This study has purpose to find out
there is positive correlation between
students’ habit in watching English
movies and their vocabulary
mastery of the eighth grade of
SMPN 157 Jakarta in the academic
year of 2016/2017.

B. Place and Time of the Study

The research took place at SMP N
157 Jakarta, located at Jl. Al Baidho
I Lubang Buaya, Jakarta. The data
collection process started from
August 7th until August 10th, 2016.
The writer observed, analyzed, and
processed respondents’ data
carefully and with full of honestly to
get the result he needed.

C. Method and Design of the

Study
The method used in this research
was quantitative method. This
method emphasized objectivity by
using numbers, statistics, structure,
and control. The research used a

correlational design, which is
usually used in assessing
relationships between two or more
variables. In this research, the
variables are students’ habit of
watching English movies (x) and
their vocabulary mastery (y).
