When I was 12 we visited Venice. With the help of a tourism company we booked a flight and a hotel
room.

Venice is located in Italy, southern Europe. Italy is a very beautiful country with lots of historical things
to see, that’s because of the Roman Empire influence over the area. Venice is located in northeastern
Italy and the capital of the Veneto region. It is a group of 118 small islands that are separated by canals.

People in Venice are known for their hospitality and great food. Residents in Venice are called
“Veneziani” in Italian.

Many of the traditional dishes are fish based in Venice like Bigoli in salsa or risotto al nero di sepia are
the most popular in the area.
There are lots of historical buildings that you should see in Venice but one that stands out the most is
the St Mark Basilica that was built in 1092.

The next thing is the Canale Grande. Only four bridges span the grand canal as generally people and
tourists travel along the canal, not over.
