Explain why both testing and performance assesment are important in achievement assesment. = They both important because testing assessment is an efficient way to gather evidence about students’ conceptual knowledgead and to measure some aspect of the intellectual competence of human beings, while a performance assessment is a better tool for gathering evidence about ‘what students can do with their knowledge. Effective performance assessments allow students to apply knowledge to solve a problem or demonstrate a skill. 2. Write a definition of achievment assesment. Assessment of competency achievement is a systematic process of collecting, analyzing, and interpreting information to determine the extent to which students have achieved learning objectives. 3. Describe the relation instruction and assesment. Assesment is an integral part of instruction, as it determines whether or not the goals of ‘education are being met. Assessment affects decisions about grades, placement, advancement, instructional needs, curriculum, and in some cases, funding. In this way, the curriculum, the curriculum embedded assessment, and the instruction are aligned with each other. Assessment answer the question how much knowledge and skill are good enough to meet the standard aligned in the unit. Teachers use assessment to determine how good is good enough. 4, Distinguish among the various roles of assesment in the instruction process. 1) Tracing (keeping track), which is to trace agar the learning process remains in accordance with the plan, (2) Checking (checking-up), which is to check whether there are any weaknesses that experienced by students during the learning process, (3) searching findingout), which is looking for and finding things that cause things to happen weaknesses and errors in the learning process, and (4) Summing-up, which is to conclude whether students have mastered all the competencies set out in the curriculum or not yet. List the ways that assesment can directly aid learning, Assessment can improve the ability of students in the learning process. So far, assessments tend to be carried out only to measure results learn students. Thus, the assessment is positioned as if separate activities from the learning process. Rating should be implemented through three approaches, which are assessment of learning (assessment of end of learning), assessment for learning (assessment for learning), and assessment as learning (assessment as learning)
