Review on Experiential Learning

Name of Student: TALISIC, CALVIN A. BTLED- 4A Date: SEPT. 27,2021

A. Significant Learning:

Experiential learning is the idea that experiences are generated through our ongoing
interactions and engagement with the world around us, and learning is an inevitable
product of experience. This theory of learning is different from cognitive and behavioral
learning theories as it takes a more holistic approach. It considers the role that all of our
experiences play in our learning, including our emotions, cognition and environmental
factors.

B. I should have wanted to learn more about…

By incorporating concrete experiences with abstract concepts, and then reflecting on the
outcome, engage more regions of the brain and make stronger connections with the
material. Encouraged to analyze how the actions affected the issue, and how the outcome
may have varied from other students. This analysis helps to be better understand how
the concepts learned can be applied to other, varied circumstances.

C. Personal Commitment:
Everyone deserves access to an education, but it’s important that we’re given the
opportunity to learn in a way that suits and respects our individual needs and differences.
So, I grab the opportunity to continually distill and integrate knowledge acquired from
class with relevant situations and problems. I will also have an opportunity to gain
communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills that have been identified as
important for our lives.
