Elna Sewing Stencil 4 /2)

1. This stencil is a very useful aid for users of sewing


machines. It is a tremendous help for a great number
of everyday applications, e.g.:

2.3 For drawing circles of 0.5 to 2.0 cm (13/64" to 3 1,4")


diameter, for decorating children's clothes, tablecloths,
tray cloths, napkins, curtains, unusual scenes, etc.

4.5 For measuring the height of the hem of a skirt, dress,


pair of trousers or the depth of pleats.

44 4 For measuring all sorts of distances up to 16 cm


4 5 (6V), drawing straight lines, etc.

6.7 For drawing right angles, determining the position of


a pocket, of an appliqué, of a half belt, etc. For
4' 6 marking the angles of napkins, tablecloths, in order
4 7 to embroider them or sew an edging.

44 8 8. For measuring the length of buttonholes, the distance


4 9 between buttonholes, as well as the distance between
the edge of a garment and the start of a buttonhole.

9. For marking the opening of a zip fastener.

13. For marking a neck opening, back or for correcting 14


a pattern.

16. To obtain circumferences with a radius of from 2 to 20 cm-


%" to 8" (i.e. 4 to 40 cm-1 1/2" to 15%"—diameter).
Practical for tray cloths, appliqués, cushions, etc.

N.B. Insert the pencil into the hole « o » and keep it in the
centre of the circle of the scallop. Insert another pencil into
one of the holes 2, 4, 6, 8, etc. and draw the circle or
16 scallop by turning around the point « o ».

17 17. For scallops on sheets, bedspreads, curtains, clothing,


18. dresses, etc.

N.B. Draw two lines A and B. Turn the stencil around on


the line A. Start and finish the scallop on the line B. (The
closer the line A is to the line B, the deeper will be the
scallop).

19 19. For drawing angles by means of the protractor, as required.
The semi-circle of the protractor itself can be used for
making scallops.

With a little practice, the Elna sewing stencil will become


increasingly valued and will be an indispensable accessory that
will widen the possibilities for using your sewing machine.
