Upon watching the movie, Andy is sentenced to two life sentences for the murder of his wife and

her lover, a crime he truly did not commit. However, as he was still imprisoned, relating a point
of law learned in Persons, Andy, under our laws would be considered as a person with civil
interdiction. It is an accessory penalty imposed upon persons who are sentenced to a principal
penalty not lower than reclusion temporal (Art. 41, RPC). Hence, during the time of his sentence,
Andy would be deprived of the rights of parental authority, or guardianship, either as to the
person or property of any ward, of marital authority, of the right to manage his property, and of
the right to dispose of such property by any act or any conveyance inter vivos. Despite all of this,
the lesson that resonated with me the most is as long as you're still alive, you will always have
the chance to start again. The only real prison is fear, and the only real freedom is freedom from
fear, so for what it's worth let's not lose the strength to try again, because our lives will improve
only when we take chances and a leap of faith.
