ACTIVITIES:

OPENING
Start by the teachers introducing themselves with a quick and simple Powerpoint slideshow. Each teacher can
take turns presenting their own.

BODY
After teachers present students will be instructed to stand up when their popcicle stick name is drawn and tell
everyone their name and their favorite color. Each child will have a turn to share.

CLOSURE
We will close by having each child stand up again and recall the name of one child and their favorite color.

ACCOMMODATIONS/MODIFICATIONS:

If any students are nervous about standing up and talking in front of their classmates then they have the option
to whisper their name and favorite color to a teacher and the teacher can tell the class.

ASSESSMENT:

- The closure is the assessment of the lesson plan.

- Each child should be able to recall the name of one classmate or their favorite color.

SELF-ASSESSMENT/REFLECTION:

Overall I think the lesson went really well. They were especially interested in the slideshow presentations and
had lots of questions about the pictures included. I think I would change having the kids just say their name and
skipping the re-call of names and their favortie color. There were just too many children that were losing
interest in the long process of the other children sharing and then re-calling. I ended up stopping in the middle
of the re-call because I had lost them.
