To Whom It May Concern:

It is my pleasure to recommend McKenzie Sigle for your consideration. Currently, I am an

EC-5 instructional coach at White Church and John F. Kennedy Elementary schools. Before that, I
have been a fourth and fifth grade classroom teacher for fifteen years. Since the beginning of the
second semester of this school year, I have had multiple opportunities to observe McKenzie as she
taught in a fourth-grade classroom and performed other duties.

In my experience, McKenzie is an outstanding educator and would be a welcome addition to

any staff. As a student teacher McKenzie goes above and beyond typical expectations to plan and
deliver quality, engaging instruction. On more than one occasion, she has taken the time to modify
standard lessons to ensure that all her students’ needs were being met without compromising her
high expectations.

During her math instruction, McKenzie noticed that the students were struggling with new
content. She took the new math resource, which her grade level elected to pilot for the district, and
created interactive, digital presentations that helped guide students in their learning. Her students
are expected to record and represent their learning in a math notebook, to process their learning in
a variety of cooperative learning structures, and to elaborate on their learning as they develop
schema around the critical content.

During professional development sessions and professional learning community meetings,

McKenzie stays engaged and strives learn as much as possible. She often makes positive
contributions to our learning through her thoughtful comments and questions. It is obvious
McKenzie brings a growth mindset with her wherever she goes.

McKenzie Sigle is a person who I would have no reservations about hiring. I believe she is
committed to excellence in instruction and learning. McKenzie will put forth all the hard work
required of her, and more.

Thank you,
