I am pleased to write a recommendation letter for Camila Gaard. She is a student of

mine at DePaul University. As the instructor, I had the opportunity to observe her as she

worked with students through e-learning and as she completed her pre-student teaching

field experiences.

Camila was warm, outgoing, and respected by the students as well as the teachers she

worked with. With the Pandemic we had to adjust our field experiences. Camila was

assigned to a student to work with weekly. She wrote engaging e-learning lessons where

she modeled and scaffolded the lessons with most of them focusing on sight words

vocabulary and comprehension. I was able to observe a lesson on Zoom. In this lesson

she focused on problem/solution as well as identifying the personality of the characters.

After each e-learning lesson she reflected on how the lessons went and identified what

went well and what might need to change for the next week. In addition, I observed

through video a lesson she taught in her pre student teaching classroom. It was well

planned and delivered. Her lesson was student centered and challenged the students

appropriately.

I have no hesitation in recommending Camila for an elementary teaching position.

She is motivated, flexible and hard working. Please contact me if you have any
