Week 7 in class.

Task: Texture, and Light your Model.


Working with your models for the previous hand in (or a reworked version) create further
surface detail using texture workflows shown in class, you may employ UV texturing
techniques to further control placement of surface detail. Lighting setup:
create a simple lighting setup demonstrating an understanding of lighting
principles, you may use Arnold or legacy maya lights to create your setup.

Maya Scene, Project Folder and fbx file.


Submit your work as a .ma file inside a maya project folder, as well as an exported
fbx file, all textures used should be cited, in the report, and correctly linked and
located in the maya project source images folder.

Video Render
A rendered video or image sequence of the scene on a turntable as a .mp4 file or jpeg
sequence (max resolution 1920x1080). This may be a direct render of the rotating
sequence in maya using the render functions or alternatively a screen
recording of the assets in motion in maya.

Report
A short report (500-2000 words) detailing your workflows, supported with annotated
screen shots should be submitted in support of your model. The report should
include research into the texturing and associated workflows and/or visual properties of your
chosen models, plus any observations or reflections on what you have learned and any
problems or workarounds you encountered in the animation workflow.

Deliverables
1: Maya Scene inside a maya project folder with linked textures in source images folder.
2: Short Reflective Report 500-2000 words .doc or .pdf
3: Rendered Video (.mp4) or image sequence (.jpg). in a compressed zipped folder
or link to a physical file downloadable (not a web page) (we transfer or OneDrive)
Note: any online file location used should be available until the end of the academic
year 4: FBX file

Formative Feedback will be given in class verbally.

Summative Feedback for all of coursework 1 will be given within 3 working weeks
after the above deadline. (On or before 14 12 2022).
