DC GENERATORS

Conclusion:

The objective of this experiment #3 DC GENERATORS was to be able to know the concept
and principle of DC GENERATORS.

DC GENERATORS is an electric machine whose main function is to convert mechanical

energy to Electrical energy. To further understand the concept and principle of DC
GENERATORS. We somehow build/construct a home made a DC GENERATORS and to have a
conclusion regarding how DC GENERATORS work.

The apparatus and materials needed for the experiment are the following: Bar magnet (Bar
magnet produce uniform and strong magnetic field which in many cases is ideal for
generating electricity), some wire and large nail, low voltage flashlight bulb, cardboard and
inexpensive socket for the light bulb.

After assembling all the materials based on the instructions given. The home made DC
GENERATORS worked where light bulb gave produce light after spinning the shaft where bar
magnet holds.

So how it is work? The wire contains the potential for electricity. The coil produces magnetic
field surrounding the magnet thus, causing the electrons to be released. The faster the
magnetic spin (shaft) in the metal coils, the more electrons are released and the higher
voltage created by the generator. The more coil of wire, the more the voltage create. To
produce more power simply add/increase the number of turns of copper wire or increase
the magnetic field by adding bar magnet.

To sum up everything, the concept of simply DC GENERATORS is that the magnetic applies a
magnetic field to the coil, while applying a magnetic field, this is combined with constant
movement of the magnet and an electricity is created.
