Assignment:

1. State the purpose why Brutus addressed or spoke to the Roman people. What did he want to
achieve? ( 5 pts.)

- Brutus persuades his audience the common people of Roman that he had good and noble reasons to
kill Caesar. His message is that he had to kill Caesar because Caesar was too ambitious and he would
enslave the Romans if he lived and it is not Good for them of course it will be affect for them and for the
people of the Roman. However Brutos want to achieve because it makes the audience feel patriotism
and that Brutus puts his loyalty for his country above his family and friendship.

How did he try to achieve his purpose or what did he tell the people to achieve his purpose? ( 5 pts.)

-By telling the Roman people of truth that he want the people should listen to him and believe him
because of his reputation as an honorable person that’s why Brutus makes this speech to the Roman
public and the audience soon after he and his fellow conspirators kill Caesar. So that Brutus tries to
explain to the people that his reasons were honorable and just, highlighting his loyalty to Rome and his
belief that killing Caesar was justified because it was for the good of the Roman people.
